This did the trick to record on the HTC Vive in OBS, works a treat.

the HP reverb G2 works great but u might get what looks like heat haze but no SDE. Just as clear if not clearer than using a monitor to play on.
I can read the road signs further away than i can on flat screen.
The heat haze effect is down to ETS 2 and ATS as not seeing it in any other game.
Takes a while to set it up though as u have to install several diff apps and do settings in all of them.

Re: Oculus Rift - experimental support
we need the VR SDK to be updated cause since 1.41 the option to change profiles is no longer their. flat screen u get an exit button and clicking that gives the option to quit or go to launchpad so u can tinker with mods or change profile. but in the VR version all u get is a quit button not an exit button no option go to to the launchpad.
So we have to quit the game and restart it if we want to get into MOD manager or change profiles.

What about when you switch between VR and screen view (for me it is F11), can you exit game normally then?cliff60 wrote: ↑22 Aug 2021 03:17 we need the VR SDK to be updated cause since 1.41 the option to change profiles is no longer their. flat screen u get an exit button and clicking that gives the option to quit or go to launchpad so u can tinker with mods or change profile. but in the VR version all u get is a quit button not an exit button no option go to to the launchpad.

It's not practical of course, since you need to take off headgear, but maybe it is easier to do it instead of restart, until it is fixed.
Re: Oculus Rift - experimental support
The VR specific main menu does not have the profile selection menu when you hit quit, so just use the regular main menu for now till it gets fixed

Re: Oculus Rift - experimental support
I live in a camper, so I'm sitting on a bench seat while I play ETS2, and it's physically difficult for me to look behind me to back up. Is there a setting or a mod or something to rotate my view backwards without me having to go all Linda Blair?

Can anyone help me?? I have suddenly a problem in vr. I cant lean forward, its like suddenly i have no depth. I can look right, left ok but not lean forward. When leaning forrward nothing happens. Its like i only have 3degree of freedom and not 6dof. Using Hp Reverb G2.
Re: Oculus Rift - experimental support
Hi I also got a Hp reverb g2, I am curious what kind of diff apps and settings you are using or talking about? I only use the ingame settings to tweak my VR.cliff60 wrote: ↑20 Aug 2021 18:02 the HP reverb G2 works great but u might get what looks like heat haze but no SDE. Re: Oculus Rift - experimental support
Is is possible to somehow suppress shimmering/aliasing of road barriers, street lamps, traffic lights, etc?
The only solution would seem to crank SteamVR SS to over 200%, but that totally butchers the performance (I am using HP Reverb G2).
And, in general, as this topic is endless, are there some performance optimizations one can do to improve framerates? So far on my RX 6900XT I am running Ultra preset with scaling at 100%, SSAO at low and AA also at low (everything else is left as is). Then in the config file I increase uset r_manual_stereo_buffer_scale to 1.1 as at 1.0 distance is unacceptably blurry. I tried FSR and some combination of SteamVR SS/config tweak/FSR factor, but even though I can get some better image quality the shimmering/aliasing I mentioned in the beginning of the post is somehow negating and improvement otherwise as driving around a city or on a freeway is a bit nauseating. I can get used to it, but I wish I could get rid of it.

This happened to me a couple of times, when I was playing in the night and had insufficient lighting - if that is your case as well, you should see the same thing happening if you leave to SteamVR Home or to WMR.cyrex1984 wrote: ↑02 Sep 2021 01:14 Can anyone help me??
