out of boredom i just calculated what the square tubes SCS made do weight, ingame they are declared as ~12t, the tube is 120x120x13.5mm (a size that is already not a standard) and something over 12000mm long (12100 something i think) so a bit longer then standard sold tubing wich would be 12m +/- tolerances for length, i came to a weight of 42t (!) for the tube on the trailer alone, 1 pipe weights a bit over 500kg itself and because i have to do with this kinda stuff every day i couldnt let it be and made my own model

150x150x10 and 12000mm length, this now weights roughly a bit over 24T and doesnt destroy the suspension of truck and trailer, by consequence some pipes got lost, from the 80 only 48 remain

it is so easy to look up this kinda stuff, there are literal pages of it from sellers with measurements and weights for them it shouldnt be this hard to do it right

This just illustrates that details matter and that a bypass out of lazyness is not a right excuss to leave it. The broad mass probably won't notice it but people like us do.

I don't think that vehicle designers know this kind of stuff. It's us industry insiders who might know this stuff.
In my opinion, there should be a research team for this kind of stuff and this must have some serious knowledge...

If it were my load, I'd belly wrap front and back and have 3 - 4 straps in between.
A real flatbed driver puts one twist in the straps on both sides of the trailer so that the wind going down the road doesn't vibrate them loose. ;)

The length of the pipes would be about 5-10cm above the spec for 12m sections, so that would not be that unrealistic. But the 120x120x13,5 is a custom dimension and generally not available.

making them a bit longer isnt the problem  only the decision from where the pipes come, directly from manufacturing or cut to length for the customer

in the mean time i added more straps and anti slip mats for more security
