There's a new way to start the Editor! You have to start the game executable with the argument -edit mapname!

That's the old way to start the Editor! Now you should make a shortcut e.g. and in that shortcut add the argument -edit mapname!

Re: Editor wishlist
Good morning, Veritas1983.
I also wondered if pressing the "A" key on the keyboard would have this option to hide the layer leaving only the background map. My difficulty in tracing the map of Rio de Janeiro with its streets, hill roads and slums stops at this problem. The scale is also 1: 1 and demands details. I fully understand your suggestion. I hope SCS is already studying a way to add this option in map view mode in the editor.
Greetings!

You can't change the opacity as far as I know, but you can do this:
In editor_data.sii you can find a line that says "background_map_height: -[number]". It is negative because sector's name is set at height "0" I believe. You can change background_map_height to a positive value like "background_map_height: 0.2" and background map will be above sector's name and you can then see roads.
Keep in mind that the roads you map now also have to be above 0.2 in height, otherwise they will end up being below the background image

@ikeSeki
How come I've never seen that parameter? All I can see, both for ETS2 and ATS in editor_data.sii is:
EDIT: Ah, I checked both ETS2 and ATS files now and that parameter is in ATS, BUT NOT in ETS2 editor_data.sii!!!!!
WHY? Can one use it in the ETS2 one in spite of that?

Code: Select all
bcg_size_x[]: 270000
bcg_size_y[]: 208800
bcg_offset_x[]: -1250
bcg_offset_y[]: -4050
WHY? Can one use it in the ETS2 one in spite of that?
