^^^ WAUW that is an amazing tool, looks like easy but all these options make it a long learning curve i guess.

I guess the SCS mapping team has a list of sectors which were reworked in northern Italy. It would be nice if such list could be published in the modding guide. Now, and of course for every future map-dlc. Also for ATS.

Thanks for listening.

There is no such list. However, I can give you a rectangular area with all sectors in Northern Italy:
X-ID range: -0004 to +0002
Y-ID range: +0006 to +0009
Additionally, sector +0000+0005 has also been changed

That should do it ;)

I don't know if it's already mentioned but I would like to be able to assign "truck only" and maybe even also "bus only" lanes...
And also add "Traffic area" like "Only trucks area"...
I would also like the ability to re-route "truck traffic" as in some tunnels, for example, trucks aren't allowed.
And there are also separate roads/lanes where only trucks are allowed to drive on...
So if I could assign lanes on a road as "no truck lanes" after a prefab it would have to signal that in front of that prefab and make the trucks turn off at that point.
And in case those lanes are "truck only" lanes, other traffic vehicles won't enter them.

Using the new traffic system I've manged to make car only roads, it'll work with truck and buses too if you made a no cars rule which isn't in the base. ;)
Example to prevent cars in traffic_rules.sii

Code: Select all

traffic_rule_data : traffic_rule.no_cars
{
	name: "No car area"
	rule: "actor_access"
	num_params[]: 0 	# 0 - disallow, 1 - allow
	num_params[]: 0 	# 0 - inclusive, 1 - exclusive
	str_params[]: "car"
}
My car only roads:

traffic_lane.sii:

Code: Select all

traffic_lane_data : traffic_lane.road.local.cars_only.no_overtake
{
	speed_class: local_road

	traffic_rules[]: traffic_rule.road
	traffic_rules[]: traffic_rule.s_car_l
	traffic_rules[]: traffic_rule.s_police
	traffic_rules[]: traffic_rule.no_trucks
	traffic_rules[]: traffic_rule.no_buses
}

traffic_lane_data : traffic_lane.road.local.cars_only
{
	speed_class: local_road

	traffic_rules[]: traffic_rule.road
	traffic_rules[]: traffic_rule.s_car_l
	traffic_rules[]: traffic_rule.s_police
	traffic_rules[]: traffic_rule.no_trucks
	traffic_rules[]: traffic_rule.no_buses
	traffic_rules[]: traffic_rule.overtake_alw	// Allow overtaking (including 'wrong way')
}
road_look.template.sii:

Code: Select all

road_look : road.template21s {
	name: "$UK road 1 [Cars Only] tmpl"
	template_right:		"/road_template/uk/uk_road_1.pmd"

	lanes_left[]:	traffic_lane.road.local.cars_only.no_overtake
	lanes_right[]:	traffic_lane.road.local.cars_only.no_overtake

	template_variants_right[]: .tmpl_var.road.template21s

	compatible_edges_right[]: fr_sw_3m_a
	compatible_edges_right[]: fr_sw_3m_b
	compatible_edges_right[]: fr_sw_3m_c
	compatible_edges_right[]: fr_sh_15
	compatible_edges_right[]: fr_curb_15

	shoulder_space_left:		0.06
	shoulder_space_right:		0.06
}
road_template_variant : .tmpl_var.road.template21s
{

# Allow overtake

	variant_names[]:	"no_line"
	variant_names[]:	"hazard"
	variant_names[]:	"broken"
	variant_names[]:	"haz_noline"
	variant_names[]:	"bro_noline"
	variant_names[]:	"haz_noeyes"
	variant_names[]:	"bro_noeyes"
	variant_names[]:	"haz_only"
	variant_names[]:	"bro_only"
	variant_names[]:	"haz_ceneyes"
	variant_names[]:	"bro_ceneyes"

	lanes_left[]:	traffic_lane.road.local.cars_only
	lanes_right[]:	traffic_lane.road.local.cars_only
}
Before I just used traffic areas in the editor and set it to 'No AI trucks area', it wouldn't stop buses because there was no rule for it.

It would take some time for me to really understand how this works and to apply it succesfully...
But that means you will have to make custom road templates as well for different road looks?

I'm using the new model-based roads implemented in Scandinavia, but you can still use the same traffic lanes in old style roads.

Code: Select all

road_look : road.look6 {
	name: "Road 1 lane broken [Cars Only]"

	road_size_left: 	4.5
	road_size_right: 	4.5

	road_offset:		0.0

	tex1_left:		0.752
	tex0_left:		0.5
	tex0_right:		0.5
	tex1_right:		0.752

	trans_tex0_left:	0.944
	trans_tex1_left:	1.0
	trans_tex0_right:	0.944
	trans_tex1_right:	1.0

	shoulder_size_right:		1.0
	shoulder_tex0_right:		0.88
	shoulder_tex1_right:		0.944

	shoulder_size_left:		1.0
	shoulder_tex0_left:		0.88
	shoulder_tex1_left:		0.944

	center_line_left_offset:	0.00
	center_line_right_offset:	-0.1

	center_line_left_width:		0.2
	center_line_right_width:	0.2

	center_line_left_style:		0
	center_line_right_style:	2
	inner_line_style:		0
	outer_line_style:		1

	lanes_left[]:		traffic_lane.road.local.cars_only
	lanes_right[]:		traffic_lane.road.local.cars_only

	road_trans_style:	0

	shoulder_space_left:		0.0
	shoulder_space_right:		0.0
}

As I'm using FLDs roads and prefabs, that would mean I would have to add road looks and templates for his roads...

I might spend some time on this, eventually...
And I noticed you can also have highway lanes with "no overtake trucks"?
