New User Interface

#1 Post by VOLVO_FH16_V4 » 25 Jun 2017 21:35

New User Interface.

My suggestion is if we have a new and updated stylish User Interface.
So we have had this design for ages it's starting to look dull and out of date (Compared to rest of the game)
I know it's not necessary but it's another step to moving forward which I think is important.

If you do not know what "User Interface" means photos will be attached.

And when I mean "New User Interface" New GPS, New screen where you chose what profile, Basically the lot freshen the game up a bit.
It would be very nice to have a new design that makes the game look more 2017. Not more 2012.
I've played this game for ages (Since it was out) and the design looks out of date to me.

Like I said I know it's not necessary to do or important to do for that matter however it could be a possible idea to do.
Also it is looking out of date compared to rest of the game.

Cheers.

Hi,

I agree, and I made a post regarding this some time ago.

Sorry mate I tried searching for similar posts about User Interface however I couldn't find a topic about User Interface so assumed no one has done a topic about it.

The "look and feel" of the user interface is OK for me. What I really would like was the ability to use keyboard to navigate in the user interface.

When we pressed one of the arrow keys, the cursor would move directly to the nearest "target" of the screen, just like Playstation's Gran Turismo 2. Then, we could use ENTER to confirm and ESC (or BACKSPACE) to cancel/back. Mouse only would be necessary to navigate by the world map.

I don't know, but I think that is not a difficult thing to do (or is it? ). That would enhance a lot the navigability by the game UI, IMHO.

You don't have a mouse?
If you suck at playing the trumpet, that's probably why.

He may be experiencing hand strain and unable to use a mouse.

I liked the original UI, then in 1.09 I think it was SCS updated it, and I like it even better. I personally don't see any need to change it. But if they do, I would like the option to choose to use the new one, or keep the old one, just in case I don't like the new one. Of course, if I didn't like it, I have a couple of mods for it that I could use.

The point is that I currently need to use at least THREE input devices in the game: (1) a Xbox controller to main functions in gameplay; (2) a keyboard to secondary functions and (3) a mouse ONLY to navigate by the screens and menus of the game. At least for me, it would be great if I could also use the same devices that I use during gameplay (i.e. gamepad and/or keyboard) to navigate by the game menus. Why not?

Yes, I know that I can move mouse cursor with my Xbox controller and "click" with "A" and "B" buttons, but it doesn't helps so much. It's slow and imprecise. That's why I suggested to change the behaviour of the mouse cursor when it is controlled with other devices than a mouse, what would improve the usability.

It's only a wish/suggestion and not necessarily a criticism. I think that the current UI is OK and only the use of input device to control it's what could be a bit better.
