Add widescreen support
Add widescreen support
I know many using the new widescreen Monitors.
ETS is running but image is stretched.
Using a multimon setup doesn't give a good experience.
So how it is to insert a support for widescreen Monitors 32:9?
I really hope to see this feature. For now it's a bit annoying.

Re: Add widescreen support
Have you set your monitor resolution in the graphics options?
Never argue with idiots. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Re: Add widescreen support
Yes, I did. This works, but as mentioned: it's stretched
Re: Add widescreen support
If you don't get any joy with the graphics settings, you could try editing the config. Look for "uset r_mode_height" and "uset r_mode_width" and enter the numbers you need.
Note - keep a backup copy of your config and I can't say for certain that it will work. But it's worth a try.

Re: Add widescreen support
What he means is the effect of fischeye:

This is a screenshot taken in 4240 x 1050 res. Used 2 displays in those times. His 32:9 widescreen is like using tripple setup but in 1 display. So multimode 2 or higher would just cut the scene and results in vertical lines on display:

For those aspect ratios the game needs another rendering solution. Not a flat "canvas" - it should be a 180° curved "canvas".

Re: Add widescreen support
Thanks Paulebaer. My English seems not that good.
You have explained it perfectly.
Other Sim titles have had the same problems, but have fixed it with an update.
Tried it with multimon also, but it's not the real thing. It's costs mich frames and, as you already said correct, you get those vertical lines.
So I really hope for a true widescreen support from the devs of the game.

Re: Add widescreen support
I have just a 21:9 (slight curve) but I already have the distortion...
Re: Add widescreen support
Seems that rendering can only handle 16:9 and probably 4:3 well.
It's really a thing for the devs and hopefully they will hear us.

Re: Add widescreen support
Just to show some extreme results:
[ external image ]
FOV slider is at minimum
[ external image ]
FOV slider at 90. Not realy nice to drive.
