I wish there were animals running across roads
The game is missing animals so much, they could make the game much more immersive and life-like. Just an animal running across the road would be so fun. I don't think its hard to implement this but so many people would thank you for that.
In the woods: moose, deer, boar, bear, fox, rabbit.
In village sectors: cows, goats, horses.
In cities: cats and dogs.

Animals do cross the road. At least in ATS. But you have to drive for some time because it is a rare event.

Re: I wish there were animals running across roads
Interesting. I just checked Youtube and Google. Was hard to find anything, seems like most people don't even know about this. I found only cows though and they were just sitting. I think this works as a road blocking event. What I am saying is a different thing - a moving moose or fox who really crosses the road and escapes to forest. I think animals must be made "uncollidable", I don't wish to kill them, just see them. There must be a simple algorithm so the beast would spawn far away from me and other cars so it would be complicated to run into it anyway.

There is such thing in ATS, on US-101 just North of the Astoria–Megler bridge, a pack of deers crossing the road just far enough to not be able to Interact with them but close enough to see them.
A rare event, indeed, there are some areas in ETS2 where such events would fit, like the mountain roads in Romania, Bulgaria and Italy.

I have approximate knowledge of many things

Well, you can add cattle on any road in Romania really

And also. Russia is coming. You know, in it animals are everywhere. Herds of cows and goats are all over the place when you drive village roads. Horse carriages are STILL used as transport.

Yes, finally some real use for those huge bullbars!
Re: I wish there were animals running across roads
For the same reason we don't have pedestrians crossing the road, we sadly won't have animals either
Simulating body harm will change the game rating from PEGI 3 to PG 13+
I wonder if making pedestrians and animals an optional DLC would still require a rating change for the base game

You don't have to spawn the movers on the road at a distance where they can be hit. Far and fast: safe.
See deers cited by pigbrother above.
There are some animals on the side of the roads and prefabs though.
Just had a rabbit yesterday.
I am not in the club of those that advocate frame-rate eaters if no game improvement.

Then don't simulate body harm! Let other trucks stop upon them and let animals run faster when you approach.
Also I wrote about incollidable animals initially. Even if you somehow run into them you will only see "ghost body" effect.
