Add more oversized cargo

#1 Post by ASDF » 24 Jun 2021 17:41

At present, the cargo types of high-capacity cargo DLC, heavy cargo DLC and special transportation DLC are still too few in general. I need more and heavier cargo. I hope to be able to transport 40-70 tons of excavators and wheel loading Machines, bulldozers, wind turbines, subway train cars, bridges, etc.
Hopefully in the future America Truck Simulator will add these trucks: Freightliner 122SD/Century/Columbia/FLD/Cascadia/Coronado, Kenworth T800/T880/W990,Volvo VNX740, International HX520/ ProStar, and MACK Pinnacle, MACK Titan.

A new DLC focused in very long cargoes with rear-controlled-steering as new feature to be included would be more than welcome. With all the new trailers and several cargoes that fit that theme.

ETS2 could use a forestry machinery DLC, similar to the one available for ATS. Europe does have a forestry industry, after all.

I would love to see Faymonville trailers in the game, but that's only if they would ever agree to this.

Agricultural machinery DLC is also available. I know that European agriculture is also developed. I know that Europe produces large harvesters and large tractors. There are also many manufacturers of large tractors. The only ones I know are New Holland and Lamborghini.

A 70-ton excavator is pretty roomy.
The problem with ETS2 is that large loads may not be able to pass through toll booths and border checkpoints. But I am sure that this problem can be solved easily. Activate the big doors in these areas when you get a big load.

In fact, at present, it is possible to transport 40-70 tons of excavators, wheel loaders, and bulldozers through toll gates and ramps. Refer to the current routes: Dortmund to Hanover, Reims to Strasbourg, Naples to Terni, Trelleborg to Esbjerg, Odense to Hirtshals, Linköping to Kalmar, I refreshed through sleep, I found that these routes can transport huge high-tech components, mines Unload truck bodies, pilot boats, building stairs, high-tech equipment and other goods.

Here's a nice example of hauiling train cars (wagons) by truck in Europe. It's also interesting to see that, for example, they need more flashers on the trailer in Norway than in Sweden.
ATS and ETS2, ASUS Maximus IX Hero, i7-7700K (o/c to 4.8GHz), 32MB DDR4, 2x Samsung 960 Pro 1TB M.2, EVGA RTX2080Ti, Logitec G29 w/Pedals, TrackIR 5 Pro, Windows 10 Pro.

Here's part 2 of hauling that train car (wagon), and shows some interesting things about the trailer she's using.

It can steer remotely - not just the automatic tracking we have in ETS2 right now. It would be real handy do have, if it's something that can be done. :)

The trailer's wheels have those tabs sticking out; she explained in another video that they are because in the north of Sweden where she works, it gets cold enough that the bearings can freeze, which would cause the wheel to skid and get flattened off. The tabs are so the driver can see that the wheel is rotating. Probably just a cosmetic thing for ETS2, but it would be cool as an option, maybe with an expansion of the Scandinavia DLC farther north? :)

We pass through alternative lanes when hauling special transports already (those ones on Italy are really tricky with some loads).

But if the problem you are thinking on is about the height... well, take a yatch load (specially the one with a mast and sail) and take an external look next time you pass by a toll booth.

I mean, it's not a problem for the game in its current state; although I don't think they want to repeat the same with other cargoes.

Hauling a big CAT wheel loader in Europe. It would be pretty cool to get their license for a DLC and have a few more heavy loads to haul! :)
