I don't know about that. Remember, Mercedes was "Majestic" in the SCS games until they were licences fairly recently. I believe it was even after ETS2 was released, but I can't say that for sure.

They also released a Gameplay Trailer:

The proportions of the Volvo are not right. Overall, the game is very simplified to get maximum performance on consoles as well.

Lol, there´s no need to simplify a game to such a reduced level of detail at all. Soedesco just did a bad job with using such an old graphics engine.

The engine is not as old as you think, it is the Unity Engine.

If the assets are bad, as in this case, then even the best engine will help nothing.

But I find the sunset mood quite nicely in this game:

The developers are smart and do not publish this game prematurely.

I'm interested. I'm very curious about the business management aspect, and also the truck customization.
It's not supposed to be a driving simulation like ETS2 apparently, but they want to add depth about what's like to be a truck driver, it's not just about driving.
From that point of view, it seems to be a nice alternative... I just hope it's well made.
I don't expect it to be better than ETS2 tho, for sure. Just something different.

I just took another look at that gameplay video from last August and I must say...
1: I do kinda like the dynamic drop-offs (you detach and go, no "end screen" or loading), and I also like the conversation system that plays out as it adds a bit of character and life to it, but...
2: Texting!? Seriously? It even has that stupid little "typing..." as the other guy is about send a message!
Also, at 6:18, anyone notice how the player is DRIVING while his character is texting...?
It gives me annoying reminders of Cities: Skylines "Chirper" that I want to throw off any one of the skyscrapers in town!
