Finnish language correction

#1 Post by Rocket455Man » 18 Dec 2015 23:27

Hi!

The load name "Empty pallets" is "Tyhjiä paletteja". It should be "Tyhjiä kuormalavoja".

Can't ease with the leash a bit? It's not like users are going to start globally use their native language all across the discussion board if they're allowed to do so in one restricted part of the forums.

I'd allow anyone to communicate in one's native language when it comes to game localization.. though not so sure about what others think.

And Livestock is in finnish just "karjaa", no need for "elävää karjaa", because "karjaa" is always alive (elävää), if it would be dead meat, it would be "ruhoja" (carcess/torso) or "lihaa". There is also english word cattle that mean the same, and is never dead.

Or Maybe just "kuormalavoja" since the load is only them, nothing on them. Is there really a need to tell that those pallets are empty? Why not just tell that you have a load of pallets aboard/on board?

Hehe, appreciate the good read :)

Thank you for the correction suggestion. The translation "karjaa" has now been added and should appear with the next large patch for the game.

When I ran through the iterations when weighing either/or I came to the conclusion that the translation being only "kuormalavoja" could offer the chance of doubt for players: "HUH, I wonder what's on them then?". This lead me to be more convinced that "tyhjiä kuormalavoja" would suit better. Want to iterate on that?

No, I wont iterate on that. But I would be remarkably happy, if someone could tell me what are those "pöytätarvikkeita" translated for. I could not find such a finnish word anywhere. Seem more like a translation error from english word tableware, which in finnish should be "astioita" or "aterimia", since silverware is known for "pöytähopeat". There is already a cargo called "huonekaluja" i.e. furniture, so those "pöytätarvikkeita" couldn't be meant for those (chopped
tables) either.

In Cargo Market "Radiators" has been translated as "Lämpöpattereita" but picture shows engine coolant radiators, so correct translation would be "Jäähdyttimiä".
