Re: This forum is named wrong
So, in game translations are not real Norwegian but less-used dialect?
If in-game is correct, how come Norwegian forum title is not if it is most used (French vs. Belgian example)

Are you even reading my links? Norwegian IS NOT a written language, but a general term for all spoken and written Norwegian languages. Norwegian have TWO OFFICIAL written languages. Not dialects, but OFFICIAL WRITTEN LANGUAGES. You can't write correct Norwegian without writing one of those two written Norwegian languages. The two official written Norwegian languages are, as I now hope you guys understand, Norwegian Bokmål and Norwegian Nynorsk. Any mix of those two written languages does not applies as correct written Norwegian either.
In Norwegian there is a clear distinction between spoken and written language, and the written languages aren't spoken by anyone because they are both constructed in their ways, meaning they do not match any spoken language 100%. And the other way, any Norwegian dialect in written form does not applies as correct written Norwegian as they aren't applied as official written languages.

Don't get me started on English (English) and misspelled English (I-mericun)!!
I'm writing a book on plagiarism. It wasn't my idea.

See, that wasn't so hard now was it?Magnum-driver wrote:... Norwegian have TWO OFFICIAL written languages. Not dialects, but OFFICIAL WRITTEN LANGUAGES. Now there's a reason to make the distinction.
But to be perfectly honest, if this distinction is to be made for Norwegian then technically speaking it needs to be made for many languages in the game.
On extended hiatus.

Re: This forum is named wrong
I mentions this because SCS already have said the letter A in this direction by making a subforum for Norwegian Nynorsk, and then I am awaiting SCS to also say B by renaming this subforum (and the ingame language) to it's correct name. If there was no subforum for Norwegian Nynorsk, I wouldn't had bothered at all.
