ETS2 limits my 180 degrees wheel to 90 degrees [SOLVED]

#1 Post by MartyTheTrucker » 25 Oct 2014 14:20

Hello.

So, I have a Speedlink Drift O.Z. steering wheel which has 180 degrees of rotation. Problem is, ETS2 uses only 90 of these degrees. I have tried a lot of things, but nothing helped. Basically if I steer 45 degrees to the left with the wheel, the one in the game steers fully to the left. This renders the other 45 degrees of rotation to the left useless. Same happens with steering right. I've tried and in the settings of my steering wheel there is no "Degrees of rotation" setting.

Also changing the wheel sensitivity and non-linearity in the game settings doesn't fix this problem at all.

When I play other games (i.e. Grid Autosport) I can use all 180 degrees or rotation perfectly fine, without changing any settings between the two games.

Can any help be provided here?

Check your wheel settings in windows, it might be set at 90 degrees.
Yes i know you say the wheel uses 180 degrees in other games. This might be an automated profile application.

In essence, ETS 2 sees what windows (Direct Input) sends it. Nothing more, nothing less.
On extended hiatus.

Would you mind reading these more thouroughly?! I already said I've checked my wheels' settings and there is NO OPTION TO CHANGE DEGREES OF STEERING.

Okay, sorry or my previous reply (which might not have been approved by an admin). What you mean "windows settings"? I've tried changing the settings by selecting properties from the device list and there is just no option for degrees of rotation available. Neither have I been provided some sort of settings tool when I installed the wheel on my computer.

Try recalibrating the wheel in windows itself. (Right click on the wheel in Devices & Printers -> Game controller settings, then hold shift-ctrl and click Properties -> Calibrate)

How can you adjust properties on a game wheel that didn't include an installation CD?

Check under Setup USB Game Controllers (type USB Game) into the Win 7 search box. If the wheel is listed there you can select it and then click properties (hopefully).
