Unable to use mouse4 and mouse5

Hello, I used to play ets2 with mouse4 and mouse5 being the buttons that changes gears up and down but after some recent update the game won`t let me bind them again.
What can I do to bind those buttons again and be able to shift gears like i always used to?

Which mouse? Have you installed drivers or an application for your mouse? Is that application currently changing the function of MB4 and MB5?
If you do have such an application installed, change the function of said buttons to their defaults or "none" or whatever else you can think of. Like the keyboard buttons for changing gears up/down.

it happens sometimes to me too... However, after complete reboot of computer, it is fixed always.

But may be something else binding them during your session.

Try this:
\Euro Truck Simulator 2\config.cfg
uset r_nowmi "1"
Disables the game messing with Management Instrumentation.

If have no other controllers & are using just mouse & keyboard use this:
uset i_virtual_cursor_speed "0"
The game will not search for any other controllers.

I dont have WMI on my PC, at first i just disabled it & the last few years i have removed it using XPLite.
