@hoevenvd Try Profile 1 with traffic set to 0 - This is almost the same as multiplayer. If no stuttering there, you may have found something.

Does anybody also have the problem, that the stuttering leads to a quick physical reaction of truck and trailer?
I mean, like I recognise, both vehicles get a short shake, especially when you drive a curve in that moment, while the short stuttering appears.
That's really annoying, and I hope SCS will soon find the reason for this issue.

Got 24Gb of RAM, I5 7400, running on SSD. GPU is a GTX 1060 with 6Gb. During my tests, GPU is steady at 60-70%, CPU between 20-40%, FPS steady at 60.
  • Test 1: g_traffic set to "0.0". No traffic at all. Drove 700km with own trailer. No stutter
  • Test 2: g_traffic set to "6.0". Heavy traffic indeed. Drove the same route of 700km with own trailer. I saw 9 times a stutter (short freeze). GPU still at 60/70%, CPU still at 20-40%. No spikes at 100% levels seen
Of course, this was just one sample. I dont know if g_traffic at 6.0 causes more trouble than setting g_traffic at 1.0. But it looks like that having any traffic is causing stuttering with an own trailer. At least, that's my observation on my PC.

Maybe someone can test as well, by setting g_traffic to zero, and share what's happening?

I'm also experiencing seemingly random half second freezes when using my own trailer.

I've been studying and experimenting with the issue and I think it might be related to some kind of cargo jobs refresh as it seems to happen at a certain time of day regardless of location, traffic, lighting, graphics load etc. and only on that specific day and in that specific scenario.
I'm not using any mods and I'm on a vanilla profile.

This makes sense if you consider the fact that the cargo market was patched in later and could be causing this small issue when interacting with the main code generating freight and quick jobs. It also explains the stutter being gone as soon as the trailer is stored and the cargo market is essentially disabled.

Maybe someone can verify this. If you take a cargo job with your trailer and you see one of these stutters, try to load the previous auto save and take note of the time of day when the stutter happens. if it's the same every time then it must be related to the cargo market or some kind of scheduled script.

Does anyone know if a bug report already has been issued about this stuttering? Otherwise I will do that, together with a video to show whats happening.

Steady 60fps, GPU at 60%, CPU at 30%. And suddenly, at random, a freeze for half a second. On a journey of 1000 km happened four times. Complete mod-free profile. Still the case in 1.40.

Thanks, but it does not quite follow the bug reporting instructions. As well I dont see SCS aknowledge this report is taken into investigation. I will make a (new) bug report, with a video, gamelog etc.

That's possibly a good idea.

But SCS knows about the problem, the last thing I remember about it, is that the devs are not able to reproduce the problem. Which make fixing difficult.

A debug version of ETS2 would be nice, that produces a lot more logging than the retail version. As I understand completely it's hard to reproduce, not happening with most of the players, and also very random. But I do know for sure this stuttering happens to me, so if I could produce somehow much more logging, that would be helpful I guess...

@SCS: any possibilities?
