mouse provlem on menus

Hi, I recently got my shadow pc, and after years without a pc the first thing I did was install ETS2 again. Upon starting the game up, the mouse sensitivity in the menu is extremely fast and when I try to move it slow, it stutters so I can't move the cursor onto what I need to click. It's really frustrating as I have searched everywhere for a solution with no luck. I can't use my gaming controller as the mouse either for some reason although I was able to click 'use as mouse' when it popped up. I need the mouse so I can change the settings and set my wheel up but atm it's literally impossible.
Is there a way to make it smooth or reduce the sensitivity in the menu?
I was thinking it could have something to do with shadow but it works fine in other games such as gta.
I have also disconnected the touchpad on my laptop in case of any conflict.

Any help would be immensely appreciated!

Run game and go to: Options -> Controls -> Cursor speed ( adjust the slider).

You can also choose your controller.
Refer to the settings, because there are a lot of changes over the past years.
