Draw distance looking at the mirrors or in first/third person camera views?
Look for this line in the config.cfg: uset r_mirror_view_distance "400" and set it accordingly. I believe the value is in metres.

Some of it can be due to Cut Planes, a feature in the map editor that allows assets to be hidden until you cross an imaginary line (to save on resources) which is drawn out using a tool. As for popping up that's coded into the engine and I don't believe it can be manually altered via game files.

I'm having an issue as well. When i have cars passing me or going towards me they dissapear/appear when about 200 meters away from me. It didnt use to do that. And it's only in Single player as far as i can see.

If it's something that happens sporadically and consistently in the same places, it could be a faulty cut plane or "respawn/despawn" point that has been not correctly placed into the map. Report the coordinates and description of the problem in the bugs section so SCS could fix it.

it happens everywhere ai traffic spawns in, trees pop up, the mountains are drawn in front of you it was always a problem in the game butt with 1.40 its more visible and irritating i hope so the scs team can solved this problem

Do you have any map mods? Perhaps you have modded game_data.sii file with lower values for draw distance.

It is a bug if AI, trees, object spawns too late, please report it
Late drawing of mountains is kind of unaviodable due to engine limitations
As suggested check it on a vanilla profile
This signature virus has been spliced with the Fundementalism-B virus to create a new more contagious strain. Please look for it infecting a signature near you.

The only reference to some kind of distance, that I ever have seen in "/def/game_data.sii", is related to LOD fading of vegetation, and has nothing to do with draw distance. If you know something, please share your knowledge.
