Distracting rain lines/streaks

Now, I am growing increasingly tired of the VERY visible, vertical, completely white lines that dominate my view when it's raining. It's not realistic at all, and I wish this was possible to remedy, and might even make the game run smoother (maybe?). Is there a way to edit certain files to make the lines less visible, or maybe even gone, and just have the effect of rain hitting the windshield like normal? I can't seem to find any mod that even touches this subject, but I hope all is not lost, as I almost always play with 100% rain, so I notice it quite a lot. Thank you fellow truckers!
