ATS anniversary stream - questions about history of ATS
Hi guys,
this is a dedicated topic for questions regarding the history of the development of American Truck Simulator from the very beginning to this day.
Everyone can have one post with 2 questions and we'll choose a few from those that submitted them, that will be answered on Mondays stream.
Be aware, that multiposts and everything else except questions about ATS history be deleted/ ignored so do behave here, please

When the map was rescaled. It wasn't in mind the possibility of LCVs for the future?

Why did you choose to start with the west coast back then and not with the east coast?
When was the idea of ATS conceived?

Re: ATS anniversary stream - questions about history of ATS
Ok, so 2 questions from me
1. Regarding history (I think anyways.. ): On the early screenshots from ATS alpha builds we were shown trucks with opened doors and hoods. Why was this feature scrapped? Lack of time, licensing limitation, or maybe some other reason?
2. When it comes to developing and adding new game features, which one was the most challenging to add to the game?

The smallest details always make the biggest difference.

Was there any specific reason for starting out in California?
Out of all the added mechanics (trailer ownership, doubles etc.), which one was the trickiest to add and why?

Re: ATS anniversary stream - questions about history of ATS
Was there cities or large towns in the base game that were originally planned, but ultimately got scrapped for what we have today?
