The Journeys of Zephyr of the American West

#1 Post by rbsanford » 11 May 2019 06:08

I figured I'd finally start a screenshots topic, since I have so many and counting.

I'll be posting highlights here, but I have much more in my albums... maybe too many... with trivia and historical context to boot! EDIT: Imgur is deleting my albums for some reason, with volumes III, V, VIII, IX, X, and XI having vanished; the current links here won't work. I sent in a support request, but I did some digging, and it's likely the mods there thought my posts were spam; this is because the only way to make them publicly visible on my Imgur page is to upload the albums to the public gallery, and the masses there disapproved of them because this is a niche field, and I was flagged. It turns out this is a common issue with Imgur, and there don't seem to be any viable alternatives for hosting large albums like these that can be easily edited and shared. All surviving albums have been set to hidden, so they won't be visible on my Imgur account, and can only be accessed here. I'm working on reuploading the axed albums; the screenshots will come back, but the original descriptions -- many being long, with plenty of information -- will be lost forever. I'll make short, quick descriptions so there's still some reference, but it won't be the same. Moral of the story: don't put all your eggs in one basket, and don't make your screenshot albums on Imgur public.

Welcome to the madness, haha. Great shots. I need to get a Volvo going on my non-JRT profile.

Cool shots!

Is that a somewhat obscure Pink Floyd reference I see there?

With low ridership, TrackUs has had to downsize its Chicago-San Francisco line, the Catalina Breeze, to an MP36PH and a couple Bombardier cars.
Most interesting about this is that the livery is that of the Frontrunner, which operates in Utah.

Bad truck! Stop humping the cop car! Hahaha.

Great shots and SUPER cool catch with the Utah livery on that train.
