Honeslty, I don't expect refineries to hit until Texas hits. But there are refineries in pretty much all the current states in the game so far. I just hope that when Texas does come, SCS goes back in and adds them to NM, CA and WA at the least to give us some distance to travel. Eastern Utah has oil too if I recall correctly so add that area in. Oil/gas is primarily done by pipe or rail but there will be a ton of equipment and drilling material to move around the entire West. There can easily be an oil related dlc trailer pack. There are specific trailers for that industry just like there are a couple that just released with the Forestry dlc pack.

yeah! one of the reasons I like to see Texas sooner is because of this kind of industry! just look at area around Houston and Beamount! there are so many chemical companies!!
Raw materials are sent by pipes but some of products are actually transported by trucks! if you look at those refineries in google map, almost every one of them has terminal products which serve as a place for loading the trucks! two examples are already in game (Gallup and Artesia chemical plants in New mexico)

Certain states will jump start certain industries. Infortunately, Texas has quite a few of them. Not only that but it is huge and can house many industries that can branch out to surrounding states. Both the asset team and the mappers will have their work cut out for them in Texas. The biggest reason reason to do more of the West is not only to box up the map, but it should be to gain more experience before tackling a state with so many large cities and numerous smaller cities and towns.

I want to see Texas as well but I would prefer we get Utah Idaho Colorado Montana and Wyoming first. Then go for Texas and even adding the rest of the states along the 10 corridor to reach the east Coast.

Yep yep, lol. If all the West was provided, that boxes up a lot for us. At that point, I'd too be okay with b-lining to the East Coast. Once that 3rd map team is a full team, I am betting that is what will happen. One team b-lines East, one team fills in North stair stepping to meet the East team, while the last team fills in between the other two to go Northeast. That way we get the West filled in, we get East quick and the last team bridges the gap to keep travel more or less squared up or at least to the point where we don't have to back track to go East. A L or T shaped map causes back tracking. This is why the map at the least needs to stair step.

i made this map of what roads I think should be included in Utah based on me actually living in the state.

the other layers on the map is the roads already included in American Truck Sim.

Here's a rough concept I made for Utah.

@Nyan_Mario. Not bad. In fact I am sure majority of those will make the map. A few concerns I'd have. Both UT-17 and UT-9 aren't necessary. Those junctions are fairly close for a 1:20 scale. Only one or the other is all we need. US-89a, same thing. Page is already in the game and the pre build road already follows US-89. US-89A is quite curvy for a lcv load. Options are good but I don't see SCS gives us both. According to the 2019 Rand McNally, STAA are not designated to US-89A. 89 is less complicated to map. The only other thing that won't happen is two entries to Logan. I can see US-89 making it but UT-30 would be iffy. The Southeast corner of Idaho and the Northeast corner of Utah could get a little mess. There are US and SH all over the place. SCS will simplify it though.

SCS would have to add something in the South. That is too much open space. Just stay clear of UT-276. UT-12, UT-95 have some promise. Same with the Western border. Some state highways will need to be present to some some affect. UT-56 and UT-21 can help over there. North of US-50 is might be helpless for trucks.

I'd also add I 80 to Wahsatch or Evanston (WY).

I would delete part of us189 between Heber City and Provo unless Provo shifted to the west a little, though that part actually seems so interesting
