13 liter engines by far dominate the on-highway diesel truck engine market in North America. If you're doing general work such as OTR, regional, distribution, or vocational, a 13 liter straight 6 engine gives the perfect balance of efficiency and power. Most trucks out there use this setup and have a power rating between 400 hp and 500 hp. Unless you're doing something like heavy haulage, oversize loads, heavy construction work, heavy duty wrecker services, etc., then you won't really need much more out of your engine. As trucks are also designed to make money for the owner, most companies wouldn't want to fork out that kind of money on a bigger engine anyways.

@flight50 Your right the article I read about the mp10 being discontinued mentioned the Titan being discontinued as well at the same time since it was the main truck Mack created the mp10 engine for and due to low sales and popularity like you said was a big factor on why they decide to abandoned it and focus on the mp8 (a shame really). Tbh I didn't even know you guys had the Titan over there until I read the article.

@pigbrother Your also right about Volvo discontinuing their D16 engine around the same time they dropped the mp10 engine as well, I can only assume due to majority of freight being reasonably light so their focus is more on cost saving in general like Supersobes has mentioned would only concur that high capacity horsepower engine are not really essential to the general transport market at this stage but the disadvantage to that is eventually overall freight demand and the urge of pressure on increasing overall cargo & combination mass weight will start to shy away from smaller horsepower engines and focus more on higher horsepower engines again. I know Australia is taking that approach and I believe more countries in Europe are taking the same approach as well.

@supersobes Everything you said is what I had thought but your confirmation proves it so thankyou.

Surprisingly, I used to see a not-insignificant number of Titans (and CAT CT660's oddly enough) a few years ago when I was driving through the Durham highlands frequently. Usually, they were pulling floats or dump trailers.

The Anthem being a Mack period pumps me up the most. It means that only 2 brands left to get in the game. If the new VNL, W990 or LT came, that would be great but we have those brands. All my excitement of another brand is what really gets my blood flowing.

It looks like I'm going to make a hard choice driving my truck. I really love the LoneStar because of the grill and interior. The Anthem: WILL I CHANGE TRUCKS xD. The Anthem is a good truck also.

I think we will have more news on Monday or whenever the stream is planned. I hope it's not just a teaser but a first look, after all in the Xmas streaming it was mentioned that a new truck would be coming in the first months on 2020.

I'll eat my hat if the next truck isn't the Anthem. It COULD also be the Cascadia, but I'm 99% sure it's the Anthem.

@GT182 wanted the old T600 or T660's well, it hit me looking at them that the Anthem have some similar features being big with rounded edges, Aeroggressive look to them! ;P Yep, coining that now, Aero-ggresive! :P

I'm very excited for the Mack brand coming... a modern Mack R? ;P
