a Home Depot tribute to ATS?

#1 Post by rocknrollDaVE » 26 Mar 2020 06:24

so being a real trucker and all i had an offload at a Home Depot warehouse in Ogden, Utah. i found this sign up in their office. it has the old curtain side trailer model with a Home Depot reskin mod on it.

maybe they should have used the Home Store trailer instead

I'm on a mission to ensure the city of Pittsburgh is accurately represented in ATS.

Because it is possibly the first picture on Google when you search "Home Depot Semitrailer"

It makes me wonder if the person who made that notice is an ATS player or thought that trailer image was a digital render made in some modeling software by Corporate.
The notice looks to have been rather hastily typed up in Microsoft Word with some quick image inserting, so it is likely the images (both of them) where snagged from a quick Google search.

No surprise there, trailers with Home Depot on the side of them aren't exactly prevalent.

Does Home Depot even own any trucks in real-life other than the pickup trucks and 40 foot flatbed trailers that customers can rent? I can't say I've ever seen an actual Home Depot truck out on the roads. I've only seen Swift, Werner, and Western Express trucks at my local Home Depot.

Just checked the back of my local HD on google maps and there's only one J.B Hunt trailer there, so my guess is that they just have third parties handle logistics or at least lease their trailers from them.
Check out my Michigan research map!

Kansas added! Up-to-date blog photo locations for upcoming states also included.

Yeah, I think all of that is operated through third parties.

You can see this one is contracted through JB Hunt.

As an ex Depot employee, they only have bulk delivery trucks that bare their logo. When people want large items delivered, its their delivery trucks or straight trucks that run.
