ATS 1.39 Speculation Thread

#1 Post by Trucker_Tommy » 18 Apr 2020 06:33

First me know there’s the graphics overhaul which I think will include more of Natvander’s signage overhaul of California & Nevada.
Also new road somewhere (not sure where) & a city rework of I think Vegas, LA or San Fran. I’m going to stay confident and go with Freightliner joining the ranks. Maybe the above is over ambitious but let’s aim high.

Graphics overhaul will have nothing in common with signs and assets in my opinion. It will be about how game is displayed - so again will be change in game engine - now more visible than in previous change to dx11.

There will also be new prefabes at 1.38. Maybe all the old company, rest area, gas station prefabs will be renewed?

I hope so. I also hope there will be more movement in the game world. Everything is still too static.

Something that won't be on the changelog:
It seems like this is the update before Idaho, so i guess this will be including some secret roads towards Idaho?

From https://blog.scssoft.com/2020/01/2020-l ... rward.html

"Thereafter, update 1.38 will bring new graphical updates to our trucking titles. A re-work of lighting, assets and more are being worked on to make sure the beauty of our game can really shine this year. All of these new changes are thanks to the introduction of DirectX 11. You can find a more detailed wrap-up of all the communities hottest questions for what the future holds!"

"To make sure the beauty of our game can really shine this year" For some reason this hypes me up so much
Sounds like they will make a big change In the game.

1.38 will definitely not bring Idaho, 1.38 is more likely for Colorado and Iberia because if we go after last year Idaho should roughly release in 2 month if the home office work didn't delayed it to much, so this means the time is to short to chuck out an update that rework almost all visuals of the game

Not to mention the beta testers would kill SCS, when they just finished 1.37, to bring Idaho and 1.38 out in just 2 month time

Will 1.38 and DX11 correct CA and AZ mountains from "growing before our eyes", and maybe fade them in instead? :geek:

Credit to the more recent DLC in UT and WA that did a great job working around these limitations. I appreciate it's a challenging problem.
