That's the data and, as expected, you had no problem at all of insufficient resources on your machine. I'm not going to extend anymore here. If you think your PC doesn't give you enough performance, better ask on tech help sub-forums. But your specs are more than enough to play ETS2 with good performance.

It's a i7 7700, GTX1060, 16gb, 1TB ssd, 17.3" "gaming" laptop.
Of course, all components are "mobile" versions, so not as powerful as their desktop counterparts.
Laptop still alive... just cleaned the dust out and replaced the thermal paste. Like new again 8-)

I've bitten the bullet and gotten myself a desktop PC... it was more because I wanted to build something, so I bought the parts and built the rig myself:
BTW, it's a workstation, not a gaming PC.

AMD Ryzen9 3900X

I've left myself some place for upgrades... next year. ;)

Currently playing on a laptop. It's an Acer Aspire 5 A514-52 with 14'' screen, Intel i7 (8th-gen), 8GB RAM and 512GB of storage, Acer-modified Intel 630 GPU, running Windows 10 64-bit. Also a Microsoft Xbox One controller and a Logitech M185 wireless mouse.

I don't game on my desktop, mainly because it's old. That was a custom build from 2015, and I don't know everything about it but...
AMD Radeon R7
ASRock motherboard
Intel graphics
16GB RAM, 1TB HDD
Runs Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
Razer Abyssus Mirror Edition wired mouse
HyperX FPS mechanical keyboard
Sony WH-CH700N headphones
Toshiba 23'' combo TV as a monitor (can't use an actual monitor because I need somewhere to plug my Playstation 2 into it as well)

That i5 was a very nice CPU when it appeared and has withstand the course of time pretty well. There are still lots of computers being run on those series of CPUs while newer ones had faded from memories.

A little bit of history.

Code: Select all

2015

Thermaltake Shark Case
Gigabyte H55M USB3 rev1 LGA1156
Intel i3 530 2.9MHz (OC'd to 3.6)
Corsair Vengeance 8GB RAM
NVIDIA GTX 750Ti 2GB
2x 2TB WD HDD
120 OCZ Agility SSD (it was free, I'm not complaining)
Blu-Ray Writer
Windows 10 Home x64

March 2018

CiT Vanquish Case (blue)
ASUS STRIX Z270E Gaming Mobo
Intel i5 7500 @ 3.4GHz
ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 DUAL O.C. 6GB
16GB 2133MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 Memory
Antec Tru-Power 650w Modular (cannibalised from old system)
Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB - OS
OCZ Agility3 SSD 120GB - Steam/Origin most played games install drive.
WD 3TB for main game drive
WD 2TB for general files/storage
Windows 10 Pro 64bit

G27 Wheel
Razer Cynosa Chroma Keyboard
Technet 3D Gaming Mouse
Xbox One B-T Controller (dedicated to PC use)
32inch Sony Bravia for both TV and PC.
TrackIR5 with hatclip

August 2019

Replaced mouse with Razer Lancehead TE
Replaced Sony Bravia with a Samsung 43" 4K TV
As of today I have updated a few things.

September 2020
Asus TUF z390-Plus (wifi)
Intel i5 9600K
Replaced Agility3 with a 500GB Samsung 850EVO SSD.
Doubled RAM to 32gb.
Logitech Precision 3D Pro flight stick
Replaced Samsung 250GB (OS Drive) with Kingston A2000 500GB NVME (Samsung SSD now in laptop).

Next month I plan to upgrade the PSU as this antec is now 10yr old. While it's not giving me issues, it's always best to replace the PSU before it does of course.

Then somewhere between now and Q2 2021 I will be looking at an RTX upgrade for the GPU.

I was debating a 2070 super, but with the pricing of the 3070 being the same and out performing the 2080ti on paper I may go straight to the 30x series. Depends on the budget and GPU prices when the time comes.
