People don't understand....
I know scale does not allow for the sign to be in its exact correct place, nor do I expect it to be in its exact correct place. However, because it is NOT in its correct place, SCS should NOT state that it is in its correct place. They did. That is the issue here, the ONLY issue.

It may be correctly placed in relation to the nearby BUILDINGS, but is not in the correct place in relation to nearby ROADS.

@flight50 No, it's I-215, I should have marked it on the map. I agree that road from Primm should be straightened, but this is just a rough concept.

Upd: edited the image.

If that is I-215, they are better off doing NV-146. That I-215 interchange is huge. They can't do it in parts, it has to come as a whole and just block off access to non functioning roads. I just don't see the 215 being worth it just for a trip by the sign. They can't put both Russell Rd and the 215 that close together imo. It need more space.

Either way, the bottom line is SCS employees are not gods, they are human just like the rest of us so they make mistakes too. I am sure every soul on here has say saying that contradicted information you told someone else. The word lie and flat out calling them a lie just sounds harsh. I honestly don't think it was intentional. Before today/yesterday, no one point out that discrepancy.

If I-215 can't be included, then it's better to keep it as it is now. But Las Vegas blvd would be a great addition.

I don't have an issue with leaving as is but its bother a few of our members here. Otherwise, it would be brought up. To fix it, its going to take about 3-7 days perhaps. In 3-7 days, they can tweak a few other things like do a proper interchange at I-15 @ I-40. US-60 @ I-10 in Phoenix or update Primm since its so tiny.

The I-215 just for the Welcome Sign would indeed be ridiculous. But there's more than just the Welcome Sign. There is a nice, big airport. Also the I-215 could connect to the I-11/US-93/Lakeshore Road, which leads to the question whether Lakeshore Road will be put back in game or not.

And there's even more. Let's just think outside of the box:
The interchange I-15/I-215 might be too close to the Russell Road ramp in the 1:20 scale. If we take a look at ads678's screenshot you don't need a lot of fantasy to imagine that a big interchange hardly fits between Primm and Russell Road.
But what if Primm gets a revamp...? There are several people who would like a revamped Primm. And there are also people, including me, who would like the big drop from Mountain Pass to Primm. Rebuilding Primm would be a project like Tonopah. And once you are at it, why not shift Primm a little bit to the southwest? This way you can create some space for the I-15/I-215 interchange. Or for the NV-146.

When SCS released that blog post, I suppose it is possible they accidentally wrote that the sign is in the correct place. I don't see how, though. The only way I could see such a situation is if they have someone who's sole task is to write blogs and that person did not know the information was false. However, I'd expect such a person, not having any other responsibilities, would be responsible for ensuring their information is indeed correct and that the post would be checked by several people to further ensure correct information before the post is released.
Hopefully, SCS is more careful about this in the future.

As for the city layout, I'd love to have 215 and the rest of the Strip. I do know from experience, though, that 215 would not fit in the current scale of the city, nor would the Strip's 515 exit, which would be a nice addition to tie off the Strip.

This is exactly what I was planning with my Vegas rework mod. I had moved Primm to the California line (I think it actually went into California a bit), but when actually playing the game it didn't matter much because there is so much room along 15 in California before you hit 40.
I had also removed the truck stop north-west of Vegas to give more room up that direction.

After this Open Beta hits full release, I might pick up on my Vegas mod again but just add to SCS' new Vegas rather than build a new one from scratch.
Basically image SCS' current Vegas but with some signage improvements, new roads, and a larger city area.
I think the focus will be 215 and the western and northern sections of Vegas.

You mean on the new map or in real life? It's no longer visible on the new map like it is the old map. Or is it one of those hidden roads now?

The frontage road is usable and visible in the new map. However, it is part of the freeway itself and does not have any parking lot access.

Personally I’d add the exit for Sloan or Blue Diamon 8nstead. That way you have Las Vegas Blvd further South, then imagrrr with making the 15 straighter from Las Vegas to PrI’m.

Then I would have the 15 go straight south to Climb to Mtn Pass and have the turn but instead

I edited a photo to add how I want the 15 re aligned.
