It has to be, they already teased the capital and that use to be one of the last (if not the last, not this time) blog entries about a DLC before its release. And by calendar it's time too for its release; they had another DLC to work in for this year.

The open beta is the dead give away that its anyday. Once the open beta over, Idaho will release. The beta doesn't have to be over with for 2-3 days either. SCS had dropped the beta just hrs before the dlc is uploaded before. So anything can happen. But what won't happen is Idaho releasing before 1.38 ATS goes public.

The file size tells me 2 things
  • Idaho doesn't have a lot of new stuff to it and is using a lot of recycled stuff
  • the new things that Idaho does have, is shifted to the base files instead
Compared to the past few dlc's, it is small though. But its also not finalized either. So we can't go by that file size 100%

If the new things are shifted to the base, how do you know there's not much new stuff? Those two statements are completely contradictory.

It's too recent, it is however 30% off at the moment.

I didn't say all new things are shifted to the base files. In following ProMods talk, you'd understand where I'm going with this. That's why they mention that ProMods Canada will not require all the current ATS dlc's because what they need is in the base files already. Eventually Idaho will be required though because its a bordering state, but perhaps not because of assets. I am sure Idaho will get new stuff. Every state will but I didn't give a percentage on new vs old. I just don't see Idaho coming with 11 companies like Oregon did or a butt load of new cargo. When I speak of new stuff, I speak of new industries, new companies and cargo. Most people actually bother to follow my post, know my stance on those three and how much of a passion I have exposing those. So unless the devs surprise me, I don't see Idaho being jammed packed with either of those three categories I just listed.

3D models vary in size greatly. The Mack Anthem has a larger file size than all of Idaho right now. If I am not mistaken, SCS even once stated that most things are added to the base file. I'd have to think Idaho specific things are added to the actually Idaho dlc. ATS in general has assets and signs that can be used in the entire US unlike ETS2 where most things are perhaps more specific to each country. So in ATS, lots can be placed in the base files.

What's the major difference between Volvo FH and FH16? They seem identical though ...
