The trucks do not appear to decelerate well
I have noticed that when you take your foot off the accelerator at an average speed the truck does not have a real sense of deceleration. Like in a normal car/truck if you was approaching a car too quickly in the distance you would let go of the accelerator to reduce the approach speed before having to use the foot brake or retarder but in ETS2 its hardly noticable. This also applies to using your gears to control your speed down inclines. It has no real effect.

well, according to another member, the truck (in game) decelerates too much.

I can only give a suggestion from a mechanical perspective. It looks like we need an actual heavy vehicle driver to settle this matter.

You're driving a lot of steel with the truck tractor itself; add the weight of the trailer (when you take the job, note the weight of the load), it causes it to decele3rate even slower.. It won't slow as quickly as a car.

Even up slight hills with a trailor on i have released the accelerator and the truck barely slows down .
Find a flat road slow down to a crawl and than release the accelerator and see how many miles it will just roll along .
It is strange really as if you stop behind traffic and release the brake the truck never rolls forward even on downhill sections

This is currently addressed, right now, in beta builds. It's coming with the next patch.
Retired, but still loving it.

I drove a Medium Duty (box truck aka lorry) for a while, does that count?
Heavy diesels have very low drag when you let up on the pedal, due to efficiency of the process. This is why most heavy trucks built since the 80s or so have an engine brake (simulated in game) which turns the engine into a giant air compressor.

Your're becoming a self-righteous hyper-critic. Nice reply to a guy that just joined the forum on the 27th. Give the new people a break FFS.

Good point. I'll try to hold back a bit in future.
