It's not a non-public version, it's the early access version that's been available on steam since 23 June. (Contrary to the way you wrote your post, June 23 is in the past, not the future.)

I did not watch enough of "Snow Runner" videos to know if there is any damage to licensed vehicles such as Freightliner, but I see there is dirt, so SCS should try once again to implement dirt since it could be done to the vehicles(there is no manufacturer that builds and advertises a dirt-proof vehicle yet, so it is not against licenses, I hope)...
Potential competitor could have been "On the road" but they seem to be lost somewhere on the road... They implemented rigids, they also showed a cutscene of livestock loading on to the truck which looks nice to me. They also allowed "us" to walk out of the truck, etc.
Another thing that caught my eye is the easiness of getting license from MAN for all developers that get published by Aerosoft. Even tho, there is no game out on the market that has even nearly detailed truck models of MAN(any model, any game) as it is done in ETS with E6(which still needs a lot of details). And yet SCS had to wait for a long time to get everything ready for the release of said model. Even in FS, MANs are not of a good quality (interior, mirrors, engine, transmission).

It has been explained by Pavel that it was SCS that did not like the results of attempting dirt on vehicles under dx9. I wasn't a license issue. He did say he might revisit dirt again now that dx11 is the full time render. I hope this is one of the graphics things that is suppose to come this year. We will have to wait until 1.39 to find out though.

The ATS thread as been locked for several months so I am surprised it took this long. Without Carthoo teasers, what's the point. We haven't gotten SCS teasers in quite some time. We all just rumble about other stuff not even related to the topic.

I am surprised that they used real brands.
From the other hand maybe SCS made it easier for other game developers to obtain lisenses. Made the truck companies easier to negotiate with.
The thought is, We gave permision to scs to use our brand name and logo why not give it to other developers to

On the Road was published by Aerosoft, a German company that is well known in the simulator genre. They have many longstanding relationships in the industry.
