Volvo Trucks Discussion Thread
On November 5, 2018, we had the addition of the third manufacturer and the first manufacturer to come post-launch. The Volvo with Volvo VNL 2014.

On May 25, 2023, the SCS release the Volvo VNL 2018. The announcement of its development happened on August 19, 2022.

What can come next?
Volvo VNR:

Volvo VNR Brochure
Volvo VNX:

Volvo VNX Brochure
But not only this, we can maybe expect a Volvo Tuning Pack DLC.

Re: Volvo Trucks Discussion Thread
I believe that when SCS launches the new Volvo VNL and the new Cascadia the game will start to become more complete, it would be like Scania and Volvo in ETS2.
My problem with the old model is that it is a bit out of proportion (2016 models) and having a Volvo VNL will add a lot to the game, I think I would finally feel that the game is "complete".

Re: Volvo Trucks Discussion Thread
Unless SCS strays from the OTR truck market and starts adding trucks like the Peterbilt 567 and the Kenworth T880, then I wouldn't expect the Volvo VNR to be added to the game either. The VNR is a medium-duty tractor intended for local distribution and regional work while the VNL is a heavy duty tractor unit designed for long haul OTR trucking. It would still be very cool to see both in ATS at some point, but I would definitely say the chance of getting the new VNL in the near future is way higher.

A truck having a sleeper doesn't necessarily make it a long haul truck. Regional work means that you do short trips that only keep you away from home for one to two nights at a time as opposed to several weeks or months. Drivers who do regional work wouldn't need to spend the money on a big fancy truck like the VNL, so they would drive trucks like the VNR instead.

@supersobes not entirely true. Bulk haulers will use the VNR to keep weight down and still run otr with them. VNR is a heavy duty truck just like the VNL.
Define regional. My definition of regional can be say the midwest, 11 western regional, east coast, or southeast. Can still be considered as otr work as well.
I would run the VNR over the VNL because of the midroof and flat top sleeper options which is suited for tank, end dump, and flatbes work. I would personally run a air dam on them and pull a van or reefer with it which makes scaling heavy loads a lot easier as the tractor weighs a lot less than a condo. Especially if you pull a lot of paper roll stock where weight savings is important.

Re: Volvo Trucks Discussion Thread
@Larry71490 Ah, I didn't realize that regional was actually considered part of OTR. I've seen bulk haulers, tankers, and dumpers being pulled by VNRs, but I had always assumed those were just local or regional guys. To me, the VNR is sort of like the Peterbilt 567. It works as a long haul highway tractor, but it really wasn't built for it.
