Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
Please tell me it's a bad joke and that North America brands doesn't want to go the European way...with all those crappy electronic tablets that will cause more problems than good.
Analog gauges might be old fashion, but they're still working great.

The biggest issue with those dashes is not reliability but glare; they are almost impossible to read if you are driving with a sunrise or sunset perpendicular to either side of the truck. They also can reflect very strong light back into a driver's eyes depending on the seating position; it is the worst for short drivers who also like a high seat.
We are working on a shade visor for them for one of my customers right now actually.

I really don't understand why manufacturers do that, they take away something that works great and replace it with something worse that they claim to be more modern and "high tech"...

Yep. The saying is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Never was a fan of digital dashes. The newer analog dashes are still computer controlled by the instrustment control unit.

I sure hope the 5700XE that we will get doesn't follow the Cascadia. At least the model that SCS plans to do. The pics I see of the 5700 still has gauges though. Its really that modern/retro look that makes it unique. I don't know which model Cascadia we get in the game but if SCS got a license for it back in 2018, I'd assume its the 2018 or 2019 model. But it just hasn't been released yet. But hopefully sometime this year, we will find out why the Cascadia hasn't released and why the Anthem got ahead of it.

Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
As far as I know, the digital display on the Freightliner Cascadia is an option for the higher end packages. There's no way the Freightliner Cascadia would be the most used fleet truck if it required trucking companies that are on a tight budget to fork over a bunch of cash on fancy electronic displays. Most of them doesn't even buy the option with a built in navigation system. It's entirely possible that ATS could have both the option of traditional switches and gauges as well as a fully digital interior option.
Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
There is actually a fleet spec package they have with the digital dash for almost no upcharge as they are trying to promote it....the fleet I am working with just took 70 of them for their package fleet.

No. You might not see a blog about cascadia this year. it can maybe in the end of the year but I kinda doubt it because WS might be more likely.
