Re: Texas Discussion Thread
indeed, 'everywhere' was a bit far fetched lol. but I agree with ya.
As a tanker/cistern enthusiast and appreciative of the oil industry I think texas will be a turning point for ATS .I think by then, we'll finally be able to own our own tankers (be it fuel, diesel, propane, chemicals) and new companies. I love the present Oil Storage and Refinery prefabs but I would like some variety. NM brought newer ones, which are great.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I honestly expect NM to get some of the Utah love. But yeah you could be right about new tanker opportunities by the time Texas comes. I'd like to see it definitely get deeper than what Utah brought to the table. I look at the currently oil industry in Utah and look at it like fmod.....it was the foundations. With any new industry, I'd expect the devs to introduce it but not go all out until feedback comes in. If people take to it, then expand on it. If not, then they save some time by not investing more time into something that people are not constantly talking about.
Logging for example. Some like it, some don't. Me I like it for the equipment I can haul there. Its not so much about the wood for me. The logging industry received a forestry dlc. The devs are taking it up a notch with Idaho. The that industry is getting well established because the further we go East, logging doesn't go away. Even Texas gets some logging. It East Texas we should definitely get the industry. That industry in Texas will have the foundation laid years ahead of it. Other industries will be worked the same. Farming should have already been there. Looks like Idaho is going into a little more. Texas will benefit from that as well. I just hope the devs keep tying in the old with the new and make cargoes go to and from places that make sense.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
What do you think about Southwest Texas? There are some markets and milling facilities in the cities of Marfa and Alpine. I hope we can reach southwest Texas.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
Oil industry is a given of course but TX has the most wind power of any state and solar is coming big. That would be a cool new industry/cargo type.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I think Borger must be in the game. and there seems to be some important industries in the north of Amarillo.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
@Sametbey2 in my personal mock up for Texas, I do have Borger in. What you speak of is a carbon facility. We need that for lots of things. One being tires. Scroll down to applications to see uses of carbon. Its a unique element that I hope makes it to ATS. I think I talked about that area before around here somewhere though.

Near Beaumont , TX there is a Goodyear tire plant and beside the tire plant there is a Cray Valley Chemical Plant.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
Maybe there should be 200 or more companies. Texas will already have many new companies, industries and prefectures.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
Lol. 200 is a long shot. Maybe for all of ATS. ETS2 sits at 149 right now and I am sure Iberia will add at least 15-20 more. For Texas, after seeing Idaho, I don't know what to think honestly. I've done personal research on Texas the past several months and Texas could easily pull in 20+ new companies. But the way Idaho went, I don't think Texas is that luckily. I see a lot of reused names coming to it as well. Its good to see that I was not the only one really upset with the lack of new companies in Idaho. Perhaps enough were upset that SCS won't try that again. I'd rather them hold the dlc another month just to properly implement new companies into the economy vs going with nothing new. I'm still scratching my head on that one.
Texas really can get recycled like Idaho. I am seeing tons of cool stuff around Texas. Mix in all the current prefabs and Texas can easily house every single existing company ATS has plus some. Even the rare ones like Darchelle. We have Tito's Vodka down in Austin. Fish Tail Foods could be down in the Gulf cities. Deepgrove (hopefully a different name for Texas-maybe Lumber Jill) over in Eastern Texas where all the forest are. Darwing (needs new name), we have Bell Helicopter and Lockheed Martin in Ft. Worth. Kenworth's equal is Peterbilt in Denton, Tx. Otlthon Homes is D.R. Horton based in Ft. Worth. Ports are all in coastal areas so Houston, Galveston, Corpus, Port Arthur so we get several ports. Airports we have DFW and Houston. Each city has a major cargo airport and a major passenger. We don't need the passenger ones. Add in El Paso airport as well. Phoenix and Denver are the next closest so El Paso works in proximity to the others. El Paso airport is a lot like Denver. It is East of the city out in the clear land in which shouldn't have scale issues at all.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
@flight50 how about the name Bellheed or Lockbell? Be nice to get more airports so we can run air freight too.
