Following the flamenco trucking music post, I found convenient to post some ideas for some tacky paintjobs. I know PC gamers are not likely to listen to folkloric music and follow traditions too much, but if you watch trucks in Spain you'll see a lot of Christian decals and vinyls, especially if they look grim and painful.

Decades ago, in every petrol station, you could buy music cassettes, there wasn't a big offer, it was mostly folkloric or the biggest pop group of the time. These tapes were bought by travelers (and truck drivers as well) and you could find jewels like these:

It was a TV series in Spain about a truck driver named Paco, impersonated by the Spanish successful actor & sex symbol Sancho Gracia at the wheels of a Pegaso, a discontinued national truck company. This series ran for 1 season from 1973 to 1974, it consists of 13 chapters of around 30 minutes runtime, each one treats a different issue, mostly related to trucking but there were side stories as well. This series predates the American "Movin' On" by 1 year and the German "Auf Achse" by 5 years, so it's safe to say it's an original idea.

With an estimated of 1 establishment for every 275 inhabitants, Spain is the country in the world with the most number of bars and restaurants per citizen. Given the long distances between places in some areas, we required settlements along the way. Many of them discontinued, changed owners or activity while others lasted, the oldest ones can be traced in History books for almost 7 centuries. Those places to rest and eat along the road are the focus of this post.
If you see many trucks parked in front of a restaurant, that's some undeniable proof of how good that place is. When driving in modern roads, you'll find pretty standart services and restaurants, sometimes they are franchises with little to no personality, but if you keep driving, especially in secondary roads, you'll find the real deal.

Ventas are generally humble places, or at least they used to be, with ancient origin, most of them began their activity in the middle ages, you can find them under other names: ventorro or ventorillo. Normally when you visit a venta you are served meat, natural and non-processed, the way people used to eat it in the past. Don't expect to find finesse in these places, just large portions of porc accompanied with local wine at very reasonable prices.

Complementary traffic lights & sounds

Red circle: notice these two auxiliar lights to help tourism drivers in the front row, there's no orange. They only have red and green, both are off when the main signal is orange.
Green circle: newer traffic lights have a timer, the duration depends on the lenght of the road. When crossing big avenues & boulevards there's usually an auditory signal to assist blind people, they used to be very noisy but now they became a bit more unconspicuous, new traffic lights incorporate bluetooth so that only visually impaired people can detect these signals.

Tarragonan coast is called Costa Daurada (golden coast in catalan), it's home to the Spanish WRC event and there's plenty of coastal towns, i.e. Salou, Cambrils, Miami Platja and a looooong etc...
A-7 (free) and AP-7 (toll) run very close to each other, some people use AP-7, then A-7, then AP-7 again to pay less when driving in this area. A-7 is being built very slowly, there's A-7 track for over 50 km around the city of Tarragona, from L'Hospitalet de l'Infant to Torredembarra.
