Whoever said this region is generally flat was right. There are quite some hills along the M1 highway in both Belarus and Russia, but nothing special. Belarus has a difference of only 260 meters between its highest and lowest points, for example. Ukraine has some nice elevation changes though.

As far as I know, Ukraine is flat as well except for that tiny bit of the Carpathians...

So Belarus has less height variance than Baltic countries even; interesting.

Then, we can have a pretty accurate idea what we could find regarding the landscape.

As I said, rolling hills and some flat lands in Polessie (southern part of Brest and Gomel regions).

Edit: as Belarus is bigger than Baltics almost by 40000 km^2, I'd expect it to have 20 cities at least. I wouldn't include Ostrovets with its atomic power station as the situation with it is unclear for political reasons.

@Skoot Atleast 20 cities for Belarus?!
If you want another City simulator.
Something similar to Romania could be something, maybe. But Romania is about 30 000km² bigger than Belarus.

@Shiva and has almost twice as much people. Minsk and Gomel are the only two cities that are over 500k population, so 20 small cities doesn't sound impossible to me.

It doesn't matter if they aren't very big or very small, what occupy more space of each city are the link to the roads and that take a lot of space on a 1:19 map. As a extreme point, one "clover leaf" interchange requires in the map what IRL would be near 400km^2 of land. You can't fit so many cities on a regular map as someday it will be Belarus. In Corsica for example they manages to put 6 on that "small" island, but the terrain was mountainous a lot what difficult the mapping (as I said earlier) but helps hiding distances and allowed them to pack more content in such limited space.

Baltic was nice, but some cities were so, very! close to each other there.
Altho, it did have 1 advantage. The Coastline = place for towns and cities, without other countries towns and cities being in the way.

Based on the first images from next map expansion. It feels very Baltic, excluding Finland. I'm mapper myself and i know to recognize some assets, type of roads and vegetation. I'm kind of more expecting to see more of Russia, or maybe even all way to the Moscow, cause i read a little bit and found out information that Moscow's administrative region of city is like 150km's wide outside of city. So, it could make sense.

When we are talking about Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova. Well, for now we got only few country roads with only one style of road, architecture and vegetation, which are mentioned earlier. This is first time that we got some photos of next map expansion before even currently working expansion is out of work in progress stage, which we know is when SCS removes that watermark from blog post images.

And there is my opinion on these teaser, it could be that from 2021 ETS2 could get two new map DLC's per year. Which will boost speed of finishing expansion of Europe, i'm talking only about map DLC's not about expanding already published map expansions or re-building old areas. If they got second mapping team, well that will be very good for those who maybe don't like first DLC, or aren't interested in specific region, but like second one.

Based on the first images from next map expansion. It feels very Baltic
exactly) Lithuania ,Latvia, Estonia did not exist as countries ) it was one big country - Russian Empire ) than USSR )
Belarus, Ukraine the same)
I think new DLC will be bigger than Iberia)
Russisch Laagland ) that territory much easier make than iberia ) Siberia - it's just depths of a forest ) not many roads)
with bears rabbits wolfs) even with bisons) named Zubr in Belarus) many birds) many mushrooms and berries )
maybe that's why in 10 largest cities in all Europe it's
1st place Moscow Russia 12 678 079
4 place St. Petersburg Russia 5 398 064
5 place Kiev Ukraine 3 703 127
10 place Minsk Belarus 2 020 600
