Colorado Discussion Thread
Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
Has anyone found any external jobs(contracts/market) in Sunshine Crops (near Sterling).
Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
I think I've mentioned it before, but these are also in South Georgia and Florida. They are used to make both sides of the freeway travel one direction for hurricane evacuations. I remember wondering what they were all about the first time I was on I-16.supersobes wrote: ↑20 Nov 2020 00:42 Wyoming and Montana have gates like that too.
The ones on I-70 in Colorado actually got used a couple of months ago when they shut it down for the wildfires.

Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
@J. Ritter Oh, yeah! I remember seeing those when I drove to Florida. I also remember seeing that they've done that to I-26 a few times over the past few years during some the major hurricanes. It's quite a cool sight to see both sides of the Interstate going the same direction!
Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
They did a reversal like this a few years ago here in Texas when people had to leave Houston. I-45 is 6 lanes though. People got stranded and lots of people ran out of gas. That is when they were pretty much forced to open both sides to head North.
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

It would be cool to have a wide section of freeway. I know not that great of an idea but still it would be cool.
Another wide section is the 5-405 jct in Orange County, the 5 is very wide and there’s a truck bypass.
Simi liar to the 5-14 jct but the truck route is separate completely

That lane reversal is sweet. Never knew that was a thing.

Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
@supersobes finishing watching that video actually answered the question I was going to ask... being that is there anywhere in the US that uses a barrier moving machine to add/subtract lanes from each direction on a freeway based on peak traffic. But one of the suggested videos actually answered that...

I'd assume they still do, but I'm a little surprised that these seems "new", it's been used of the Auckland Harbor Bridge for a few decades now... but that would be a cool little feature SCS could implement if it could be pulled off.

@hangman005 They actually use those those movable barriers on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, so it would be interesting to see if SCS decides to add that if they ever do end up making a San Francisco rework.

That would pretty cool, Morning Extra Lanes into SF, Evening extra lanes out, and a chance to actually see the zipper in actions in the hours before the peaks. would be pretty cool, though I imagine the last one would be very difficult to do.
