@Supersobes - Well I can understand that... I've liked the 5700 exterior design, but was abhorred from the mid-70's interior enough that I didn't even want a mod of it...

This is not looking like 70's at all. They just have to add a GPS and 2 more plugs for electronics in interior and it'll be great. They can keep this design for the rest. It'll be nostalgic like Peterbilt 389. On the sleeper size I think WS has better sleeper. It doesn't have problematic fridge like Cascadia and the bed is bigger.

@Freeze338 Saw a engineer from WS being proud about its interior retro design, I think it was a video reviewing a 2014 model. I also think it looks quite good.
Best Regards.

Same design they've had since the late 90s. I don't mind it though.

Just that stick in the middle thats missing! ;) If you go back 20 or 30 years or even 40, how many large semi trucks in the US had automatics? Must been some?

I dont even know how common it was here in Europe, in the 90's I'm sure it had started to get more common. I got a ride in a garbage truck once, short ride, think that one was an auto, but those drive locally so it make sense, probably an allison. Think it was a Volvo F12 or something.

Not just due the local drives they do but also due the continuous stop and go they do on their daily basis. Garbage trucks were some of the firsts ones where I saw automatic gearboxes in here due that reason. On the long run, they were more fuel saving even on those old gearbox models. City buses started to use automatic gearboxes way back in time due the same reason.

Now that all seven brands are in, how’s the future gonna be?

Welll there was a hint from Max in that they recorded sounds from a 2020 VNL. So we have that. We have the LT that is half way done if they use the Lonestar chassis and we still need the real Western Star that SCS was working on before Western Star approached them with the 49X. Sooo, 3 are in line and if you ask me. At least 2 comes for 2021 and we will need something for ETS2 perhaps. There's rumors that new trucks are on the market in Europe. I'd like to think that SCS is already developing something because yes, they are aware that the ETS2 crowd would like a new CAD modeled truck.

Patience is needed though. The devs are obviously ramping of a lot of projects. Just because we don't hear about them, doesn't mean they aren't developing stuff. The new lighting system info came out of no where. Stuff is happening if people just be patient.

@flight50 on that approach we also have half way finished Mack Pinnacle. I'm hoping SCS has 5700 before 49X and we get that as the next truck. That wish is just personal btw xD.

But I'm expecting each brand will have minimum 2 trucks. But W990 could come as well. I'm expecting 5700XE, VNL and LT as the next 3 trucks .

On ETS2 side I'm expecting Iveco S-Way as the next truck.

I'm expecting the VNL 2020 next. Knowing that WS will refresh 5700XE really soon, it would be a rather unwise decision for SCS to make the older model. Also seeing Daimler's clear connection here, I wonder if WS will make another real life + ATS truck reveal with the new 5700, that would be amazing.
