Remember that Blogger and Youtube compress the quality of images and videos respectively. The real potential will only be seen with our eyes in fact when the Open Beta is released.

We can only hope that the new lighting system will improve over time and the revamp is a good base to develop further

Surely it will be a work in progress like the F-MOD. It will keep improving over time.

I hope it won't be like F-MOD and will improve faster...

Is F-Mod bad right now? It certainly is an improvement to the old sound

F-mod was introduced, to improved general sounds environment. Some sounds are better some are worse from what we had earlier (it is matter of taste), but there is no progress over the year (just some tweaks to existing sounds). Or I'm missing something?

It's a mixed bag. Improvement in some areas and a step back in others. It certainly allows for granularity, but without occlusion and proper reverb, we will never have a proper in-cab sound.

You are no one. In 1.36 I can a bit improve sounds for my favorite truck, but now I must re-create this sounds from scratch, if I can  But suddenly I can't because I'm not a FMOD specialist and my sounds is not good. Many traffic sound wonder me, of course SCS will fix it in future. Guys I play this game from 2012 and all this time I hope ... I hope ... I hope. So current state of FMOD is not good for me. Please hear ring sounds of railroad crossing in ETS2. SCS go to Portugal for record ambient sounds, but they can't take sounds from YouTube for correct sounds at railroad crossing in ETS2. How long time we can wait it? This is not a "free to play" game, and we all pay money.

I understand, as I cannot edit those edited yawn noise anymore. I had to turn 'sleep simulation' at all because of that. before, i could just replace sound file for my liking - I understand your point :) And completly agree, I cannot see much of a progress in FMOD... I'm afraid, we will not see much of progress with lighitng after initial release... Maybe in 2025, or 2030... or not...
