Did somebody write the idea to allow trucks to be loaded on a trailer train?
The train would skip some cities or states and the drivers would leave the train with his trucks on a certain railway station.
I know in germany it is common.

SCS could make an animation how the truck enters a low bed waggon and how the trains leave the train station with many low bed trailers loaded with trucks.

Or instead of an animation the driver can drive with a ramp on low bed waggons.

I mean like this

It is the rollong highway mainly for transit traffic through the alps but can also be seen in US and Canada in various forms

@Kirmes-Truck Your links do not work for ATS. We don't transport the entire truck like that in the US. I don't know about all of North America though. Only the trailers get hauled on train cars here. We already have trailers on rail cars iirc.

If this was added, I would soooo want to be able to have the option of staying with the train, in real-time, for the entire journey. It would be really satisfying for me.

Would probably be like the ferry or channel passage, but it would be relaxing with a prober cut scene ;)

Like @flight50 said, in US only trailers travel on trains in intermodal operations, then this type of suggestion isn't feasible.

@Felk actually we have both intermodal and standard trailers on train car. Each trailer requires a different type of train car. Sometimes they can even haul both combinations. But yeah, we never transport the truck here. The trucks pic up at a terminal.

@flight50 I know, only said the aspect about operations involving trailers.

On a side note, intermodal trains are one of my favorite type of compositions. I'm actually growing my HO one.

Here's a video of my intermodal HO:
(In the middle of well cars there is a piggyback car with a 48' JB Hunt trailer.)

FWI even in Germany and in the whole europe intermodal trains only move the trailer and then the truck pickup and deliver trailers at the terminal.
It would be a waste of money to move a truck on a train.

Look at the pic:
