As he is from Australia (mostly desert), then it's understandable that he likes deserts ... :D ;)

Everyone has their cup of tea. People tend to like what they are use to or curious about. Nothing wrong with liking Utah and Nevada. Nevada will be even better once its rebuilt like California.

I definitely prefer the arid dry and desert areas. After Texas and Montana, I do have to say though the states that most interest me are the states you don't think about, or barely remember are states mainly because they are states you don't think about lol.

In response to IamTheOne

Never been a fan of green environments. I wouldn't live in a desert. But they are just so much more pleasing to the eye.

The sparseness, texture, foliage, wildlife, and the fact that this environment is usually a considerable distance from the nearest metropolis. Where I am, the majority of the landscape is desert, or at least semi-arid. Just need to do the maths.

^Agreed. The best part............it could still be. It can be fixed. Not a ton needs to be done imho but there are about 3-4 things on my list that could fix it.

@flight50
I recall you mentioning that you didn't want a prolific section of Hwy 70 to be destroyed for a new junction. So how is a route to Hanksville going to fit in?

I'm just curious as to whether or not you still stand up to your comment which favours retaining the current highway setup, in lieu of filling a massive black hole with several miles of new roads.

But perhaps this would be better off in the Utah discussion thread. It is veering off topic. There is already a near identical discussion in the thread in question.

I mentioned it a few times actually. Give me some time to locate those post today. UT-24 connects to 2 parts of I-70. The West side is what I stated, not the East.

Edit. I posted in the Utah thread instead of here. viewtopic.php?p=1657035#p1657035. I didn't realize I wasn't posting to this thread.

Still Colorado but Texas might be a new one or Montana.
