I'm little late on this one. but I was excited about this one. Especially seeing all they listed. I'm glad to see this kind of injection with Montana and would be happy for even if not new industry but new companies about the same again for Texas.

So I was looking around at the map of Montana and I was wondering if we might see MT 43 from US 93 north of Salmon to I-15. I think it could fit and without it there are no connections to US 93 from the east between I-90 in Missoula and US 20 near Idaho Falls. Seems like it would make sense to have but I'm not sure how truck friendly the road is.

Yeah, MT-43 is something I added on my speculation map. Salmon can use as many outlets as it can get. Its just like UT-56/NV-319. That shortcut pays off for certain cities as it bypasses others. It also helps with detours. Its only a 77 mile long road. That is nothing at 1:20 scale. Maybe 3-4 miles worth of driving. SCS can make good of it though because of all the curves. They can stretch an extra mile or two out of if they exaggerate it a little.

Salmon to Butte, Bozeman, Billings, Helena, Great Falls, Miles City...even to Yellowstone would make good of MT-43. Heck even Sheridan, Cody (if it comes), Gillette, Casper....MT-43 is pretty much a must for me. Fastest access to Interstates I-90 and I-15. Backroads are cool with me, but others like Interstate travel.

Solid spec map.

I have two additions on mine, Going to Sun Road in Glacier National Park and the Beartooth Highway.

Both are listed in the most scenic drives in the US, doubt they keep them out.

I honestly haven't looked into either. But if they are that scenic, heck yeah.....bring'em on. I'd love to see just how great the map designer can be. If the Tetons can be beaten.....then you are have a knack for landscaping. That is the person I want to see rebuilding the base maps mountain areas.

Would adding US-212 from I-90 to Broadus make sense in preparation for continuation into South Dakota DLC?

@Xaagon, yes, since it would make a lot of sense for SH 59 to continue from Gillette to Miles City, and that also passes through Broadus. The 212 from there to Crow Agency might not make sense to some when Montana releases, but the whole cutoff will definitely need to be in the game when the time comes, and there's no harm in adding part of it early. In fact, the 212 could even run further east with Montana, ending at MT 326, which goes south into Wyoming as WY 112 and connects to WY 24 and Devils Tower.

@russ99, I could see the Beartooth Highway maybe making it into the game; it would certainly make trips between the Snake River Plain and the Yellowstone Valley more interesting. I wouldn't hold my breath for it though. Going-to-the-Sun Road would be absolutely amazing; reviewing it on GMaps, it's like the Million Dollar Highway was built in the Faeroe Islands. But since it's more obscure, not very logistically useful, and there might not be room, I wouldn't have too much faith in it.

Handy maps and diagrams.

Furthermore, I consider that I-80 across Nevada must be redone next.

I'm glad the first blog in Montana mentions US-2, it's just as important a road as I-10 or I-40 in Texas, we no longer have to worry about this path not being added, respectively speculate whether this path will be added or not

US-2 is important for Northern Montana but its a back road and by no means is remotely as important as I-10 nor I-40. Not remotely possible. US-2 is not an interstate. It does not have the volume of traffic that I-10 nor I-40 have.

I think he meant that US-2 was as important locally. I don't see US-2 not being included at least from Kalispell to Duluth. Properly, SCS should extend it all the way to I-75 in Michigan, and west to Bonners Ferry and complete the missing section in Washington. Far into the future I see US-2 included in New England as well.
