With default SCS engines & transmissions, you can make 7~8mpg(best on single run, not long term). most important thing is your load. try galimim's drive train revisions for better results.

T680 with MX-11 430HP and 2.70diff. 12speed Paccar gearbox. first 10.1mpg(1574miles, 40k load), second 9.3mpg(1563miles, 57k load).

Somewhere around 6 - 6.5 mpg at any speed with the Peterbilt 579, and at one point, up to 8 mpg with the Freightliner Cascadia before it suddenly dipped back into the aforementioned 6 - 6.5 mpg territory

W900 800hp C16, 18 speed eaton with 3.70 rears I get 5.2-5.4 depending on what I'm hauling. I do WoT jobs 99% of the time so the 65mph limit with 3.70s keeps me about 1400 rpm cruising

how are you all getting good fuel economy? I got like 4 mpg in my 389 hauling silage 1100 miles... even my Cascadia got around 4 mpg hauling reefer with a DD15 505 and a DT12 transmission??? i do drive as fast as the speed limit so that is a reason probably but on the highway when its low rpms doesn't really go up that much

Manuel vs semi-automatic?
Flat vs hills / mountains?
