The fact, they use bought assets doesn't necessarily mean the game will be bad. There are quite a few games out there, that use prebuilt assets and are still fun. I guess the biggest issue I see may be the trucks, because licensing is a thing. and since they clearly don't have the license for the Mack they have shown.. well it looks like the game as of now doesn't have a single truck in it. So yeah.. what I said before, fancy game features and realistic physics don't matter when you have nothing to apply them to.
Though I'm more than sure that defenders of this game will now say that they will have more fun with their driver sitting in the air and pulling trailers with his a$$ than they have in "barebones" ATS.
The smallest details always make the biggest difference.

They don't have a map either from the looks of it as the one used is a free thing from Unreal according to that post. Surely thats a massive part of the game.

I don't wanna be a downer because it would be nice to have something else to play that wasn't ets or ats, but this reminds me of that Alaskan truck game. Or has that actually come out?

According to the developers of Alaskan Truck Simulator, the game will release this year and a Demo is scheduled to be released between June-July.

store assets are normal, the Unreal Store has many real world scanned assets that can be used, they even advertise it with Unreal 5 and Quixel, good for small developer that want to get started, i dont really see this as a negative point

Could always hope that it goes well for this game. And other games too.

It might take some time before SCS makes any games that have areas on the southern hemisphere?

It was really smart for World Truck Studio to start with Australia and thus avoid direct competition with SCS titles. I don't enjoy driving on the left, but the game look promising so far. Still, I'm very cautious about it until I see more of the map and how detailed it is, as well as more interactions with the truck (maintenance and repair).

A lot of potential here.

I hope they release some more information soon. They have provided enough to pique interest, but nothing more.

Well, if I don't go to see Kenworth K100/K200/K220 in this game, I'll be sorely disappointed ;)

If they support mods, someone will convert the ones from ATS over. People have already converted them to Farming Sim. But officially, no. They don't appear to be going the licensing route, and I think they are incredibly smart to avoid it. Then, anything they want to do can be done without running afoul of issues with brands. They just have to ensure that truck designs aren't too close to irl models or that could cause issues as well.
