EU Tyre Labelling Regulation

#1 Post by abasstreppas » 20 May 2022 09:05

Ping @Max I guess you are the right person to answer this:

Does all three categories of the tyre labelling system affect game mechanics, fuel consumption, tyre grip and tyre noise? I think I read somewhere on the forum that it does, so my actual questions are:
  • How does the game calculate those values between mounted tyres that have different labelling class, is it using the lowest or highest value, or does it calculate an average?
  • How does the different values affect behaviour in game in reality? I guess the tyre noise is the easy part as it's probably uses +- db values straight into the game sound
Cheers

from the top of my head, all values are used as single modifiers computed as weighted average (of the value not class itself).
rolling resistance actualy chnages rolling resistance in physics engine, wet grip affects friction (based on some rain coef) and tyre noise modifies volume of sound output.
Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.
