[CA] I-5 NB - Cars slowing down at overpass [188884]

#1 Post by Bedavd » 26 May 2022 20:25

At the overpass in Corning over I-5, cars in the right NB lane sometimes slow down excessively as the approach and cross underneath the bridge. I'm not sure if this is related to traffic entering the highway further down the road from there. Not every car seems to do it, but every time I drive in this area at least one car will do it.

Code: Select all

Corning I-5 NB right lane some cars slowing down to crawl ;[26/05/2022 12:54:19] (sec-0028-0006);-111955;19.0553;-21308.1;0.399104;-0.155144
1.44.1.4 (64 bit)
Always Reproducible.

Here's a video I made showing the issue, the police car does what I'm taking about.

Hi, I wasn't able to reproduce this issue and it seems like you were using user modifications.

Please follow the bug reporting process and replicate the issue on a profile that never had mods installed.

Cheers!

The profile I used for the report never had mods, but I did start the session on a profile that did. I went and recreated this on my unmodded profile again and here's the bug report for that second recreation.

Here's a photo from that second session that shows a truck nearly stopping and two ai cars nearly rear-ending him

The issue is dependent on the location of other traffic. The traffic on the main line of the highway will only slow to a near stop when there is a vehicle simultaneously making a right hand turn onto the on-ramp.

So I guess this and the other bug I reported are more likely to occur when using a higher g_traffic number causing more traffic further up the road. I’m not sure it would be a bug then since it’s messing with these values but I guess it’s good to bring up. I personally haven’t used g_traffic 1 in years and tend to keep it around 1.3 or 1.4.

I've tested with g_traffic 1 and g_traffic 0.75, and I was able to reproduce both issues with those values. It might take some time for the vehicles to be in the exact locations to make the issue with those values, but it is possible to reproduce.
