[TOOL] SXC Extractor - Flexible Game Data/Mod File Extraction Tool (UPDATE December 24, 2023)

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

Anyone know how to unlock car mods made by turk people?? Every god damn car mod made by them is locked so it only extracts all the files except the vehicle folder (which contains the vehicle pmd files etc).. And if you even try to unlock it it says theres still files in index file which are the car pmd files that are still in the scs file..

^^Yeah, but it took way too long to do it manually and create a list of all pmd, pmg, pmc, tobj, dds & mat.

Thank you for this tool! I've managed pretty well so far. The only problem I haven't yet figured out how to get around is that some .dds files (always .dds as far as I can tell) give me this error, and won't extract:

Code: Select all

Warning: Internal error -> (UnpackStream2File)
Warning: Unable to extract file -> C:\***\blah.dds
However, the original SCS does have the 'suspect' DDS files in tact because they appear properly in game - if I zip up the extracted contents, I get the green missing texture for those times.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks :)

The SXC extractor no longer works properly, when extracting the base.scs get 20 warnings that the files are not extracted.
With the scs extractor files are extracted who the sxc extractor did not extract them.
The SXC extractor needs to be updated, but I don't think this will be do..... :roll:

This is true. It took me just under a week (off and on) to fully extract a locked Peterbilt 352 mod with all the correct names in place. But, it was worth it!

When it comes to the vanilla game's files, you use the SCS Extractor, not SXC Extractor.
You can write almost any way you want, and you might make yourself understood.
But, if you don't use standard English properly, you would also help people understand that you aren't well educated.

You can write almost any way you want, and you might make yourself understood.
But, if you don't use standard English properly, you would also help people understand that you aren't well educated.
