Massive memory usage and drop in frames after updating to 1.44

I was happy with 1.43 and my basic setup i3 / 8gb ram / nvidia 4gb. Didn’t want to update until my favourite mods had come up to speed. I just updated to 1.44 a couple of days ago. Took me a while to set everything up including the mods. I’m experiencing massive lags and at least 1gb more memory usage after the 1.44 update.

Using Promods 2.61 as well, but the game lags in the vanilla version as well. What’s up with the memory hog with the latest update?

I don’t run any other program in the background. I even turn off my antivirus and I always run ETS2 in High Priority through the Task Manager.

Memory usage on 1.43 was about 70%, now its 90%. I’m surprised that the rig hasn’t run out of memory and closed the game.
