Idaho Discussion Thread
Re: Idaho Discussion Thread
I disagree. Denver has 9 depots, Las Vegas 8, San Francisco 6, many big cities have less depots than Grangeville. Towns with less than 5000 people shouldn't have more than 3 depots IMO.
Re: Idaho Discussion Thread
^I agree on all you points. San Francisco should get a few more. But the larger the city, the less space. SCS can always do more remote to suburb cities though. This seems to be the best remedy to large cities. Grangeville is spread out as it has space. 8 depots actually doesn't bother me. I agree with ads678 that McCall should have been a small marked city. If Tonopah and Pioche.
ID-21 is trailer length restricted if I recall correctly. Its tight and windy if I remember right. ID-28, Yeah I am sure its SCS model limited. But if you look at ID-28, US-93 and I-15....ID-28 is right in the middle. If SCS could push ID-28 closer to the border or even into Montana, there is space to do so if I-15 accounts for it. But for the mountains, they can use cut planes right at the peak of those mountains. Cut planes can hide an entire back side of a mountain. Splice it in half. We only need to see the front slope of a mountain. From the back side, another cut plane for the back side road. 2 cut planes per mountain range based on what road you are seeing them from.

Re: Idaho Discussion Thread
The US-21 between Boise to Stanley (trought Boise National Forest) should be on the game, that route would avoid all that loop on the south that has to be done to go north. Also I want to mention the US-28 on the border with Montana and the US-20 from Idaho Falls towards YNP. Maybe SCS could take a look on this areas and bring them on a future update

https://www.google.com/maps/dir/43.5405 ... m2!4m1!3e0 yeah, that would be nice to have in the game, Kistk3.

Re: Idaho Discussion Thread
People pitched for ID-21 many times. Its not an STAA route which means it has restrictions in some fashion. Length if I remember correctly from the Rand McNally Truckers Atlas. Its not a National Park road though. But to make ID-21, SCS can put a lot of switchbacks in it to gain space. But if you add ID-21, might as well add ID-17 as well.

Re: Idaho Discussion Thread
Yeah I read here on the foruns someone pointed that US-21 has restrictions, but so does the Going Going to the Sun Road, and we are getting it on Montana, and I'm happy with that. But Idaho still feels unfinished with the routes mentioned above not making to the game at moment.flight50 wrote: ↑04 Jul 2022 19:29 People pitched for ID-21 many times. Re: Idaho Discussion Thread
Most definitely Idaho feels unfinished. But its layout in general brings these issues. SCS could have done more to help Idaho but that didn't happen. The restrictions for Going to the Sun and ID-21 aren't the same though which is where I was going with that statement. SCS has control to do whatever road they want.

Re: Idaho Discussion Thread
There is this map concept made by the member, ads678. And he pointed.
Missing roads that are really needed (red = must have, blue = would be nice to have)
[ external image ]
Agree, and fair enough, that routes are a miss on the map.

Re: Idaho Discussion Thread
Colville to Sandpoint has been mentioned thousand times. It would be better if we had it in the release but it's not added all these times.
I never checked what is in the upper middle of the Idaho but has been read that there are a lot of camping and outdoor activity places in ID and I guess this empty area is representing this kind of touristic activities. - who knows - Mountains and commercial prohibited roads.

Re: Idaho Discussion Thread
Some routes on the concept map are not possible.
When looking at a map, they might look possible, some are not.
