Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
Fuel consumption:
Did anyone experience, too, that the Cascadia equipped with Cummins efficiency engines and an Eaton transmission consumes considerably more fuel than one equipped with DD engines and transmissions. Even compared to the 49X with a Cummins efficiency/Eaton combination it consumes more. Meanwhile I know, that the Lonestar gets a fuel consumption bonus, but afaik not the 49X or the LT. My guess is, that the Cascadia gets a malus in game if not equipped with DD stuff (maybe for Daimler to promote their own power trains). But this is, of course, pure speculation with no proof at all (except my experience with the fuel consumption).

Yup, with it's downsped spec'd powertrain the Cascadia pretty much stomps on everything else for MPG on ~44,000lbs or less loads it seems. I would assume that you're right about it being a push from Daimler in the licensing to promote their proprietary powertrain.
Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
it's normal. if you are using realistic fuel consumption, transmission's diff ratio make that difference. eaton's diff 3.55(with 13 speed), 3.25(with 18 speed). on the other hand DD's diff ratio is 2.85.
Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
That may be right, but as I wrote in my post, that does not happen to the 49X (Eaton vs. DD, too). And taking only Cummins efficiency engines plus Eaton transmissions with comparable torque and load the Cascadia still consumes more than the 49X or the LT. This is at least my experience.

since 2022, but i dont know which engine, the DD16 still only lists 600HP and the X15 shows only up to 500 even though there is a 605hp option

Hello everyone!
I wanted to ask a specific question on the compatibility of the truck configuration, namely: is the fully digital cockpit compatible with a manual gearbox or is it only for versions with an automated manual?

I haven't seen it with a digital dash and manual gearbox, but I think the customer can get this configration at will.
Here is 2022 Cascadia with manual gearbox and analog dash:

Digital dash is compatible with manual transmission, though it's not a common setup in the Cascadia. Likely will be a common configuration in the 57X though.
