[ETS2/AT] What to do when you're ok already?
[ETS2/AT] What to do when you're ok already?
Hello truckers,
what you do to maintain interest and involvement in game? I mean when you're already good (have lots of money, all trucks and trailers in garage, crowd of hired drivers and all), just moving around hauling loads and exploring becomes pretty boring for me. What we/you/me can do else in game to stay involved and interested?
Have a nice delivery

I built a company with lots of trucks, garages and drivers and it got a bit monotonous, so I started a new profile with a realistic/hard economy.
Now I'm struggling to make it as a one truck owner/driver. The challenge has reinvigorated my enthusiasm.

I would say the same - when I started playing ATS after five years with just ETS2 I did so as a solo owner/operator. Without any mods it hardly counts as difficult but much more interesting than the money pouring in so fast that you can never hope to spend most of it
Cheers, Steve

I started using a heavy cargo mod: makes me work to climb hills and have to be more focused when stopping.
I believe it's available on steam for both games: comes in 50-100 ton options.

Take a break and revisit

The game mechanics are about taking a cargo from A to B, that simple. So, whenever you feel it boring, add you own achievements to it.
Had been you fined a lot? Focus yourself into be more careful at driving. Are you arriving late or with low remaining time, try to improve that (check for different trucks, engines, gearboxes combinations that fits you). Or try to search for rarer cargoes to be delivered (there's some very hard to get unless you use quick jobs). Are you feeling masochist? Go for the 100% discovery achievement. There's lot of possibilities, as he game ask for so little, you are free to spice it as you want.
Or as plykkegaard said, take a break, play/do something else. It's not that you must be playing SCS games only all your spare time.
Regards

Definitely! Truck sim happens in phases for me, too.

If not using a hard economy mod, try g_income_factor 0.010 once you start over on a brand new profile. Depending on the amount of time you play this game, it might be safe to assume, you won't be able to buy a garage or a truck until we are in the Eastern states
Re: [ETS2/AT] What to do when you're ok already?
Thank you guys for replies. Same my way also for now - started a new profile and progressing without hiring any associates just to own all trucks, have them fully upgraded and drive one or another.
Re: [ETS2/AT] What to do when you're ok already?
I do the same in opposite way: Buy trucks with under 400 hp engines (and complete the look with bare steel wheels and plastic parts).
