Realistic Physics settings.
I just bought the game and all DLC and I LOVE it.
One of the first mods I got was Realistic Physics by FRKN64, saw this recommended a lot. However raises a couple of questions…
1. FRKN 64 appears to recommend the stability and suspension settings be set to max with his mod. The truck feels a bit like a race car to me like this. Am I doing something wrong? I have the physics mod set to highest priority in my mod manager.
2. And does FRAKN64’s physics mod work with the fantastic Mack R by Harvin I installed? That’s what I’ve mostly been driving.
3. Speaking of the Mack R, what’s the best layout and settings for the 12 speed Maxxitorque transmission?
4. How does “braking intensity” work? Does it change any physics like in tire grip or merely change the amount of torque the brakes exert? Is there brake fade in ATS?
5. Finally, is there any mode to test-drive various engine and transmission combos pulling loads without taking a job and with it having to buy the stuff I’m testing for real, etc?

Re: Realistic Physics settings.
Hi, i use no physics mod - my sliders are on the left side, (without any physicmod)
-truck stability 5 clicks to the right side,
-trailer stability 3 clicks to right side,
-the stiffness are between 10-15 clicks to the left.
The slider of the steeringwheel are at 900° and my brake slider just touching it on the left side.
This are my settings and i feel good & it feels realistic for me (had the same configuration in ETS2).
For the rest i didn´t have any answers, sorry.

Always drive safely and appropriately - in simulation as well as in real life
Re: Realistic Physics settings.
I play with mouse steering and my settings are as follows (All values are in 0-100, with 0 being the extreme left of the slider):
Truck Stability: 0
Trailer Stability: 0
Suspension Stiffness: 0
Cabin Suspension Stiffness (ETS2 only): 0
Braking Intensity: 50 (with ACC and EB on)
Steering Sensitivity: 30 or less
Most importantly: No mods. Isn't the accurate physics but the closest I can get to.

Re: Realistic Physics settings.
You should give a try to the one from my signature.
Re: Realistic Physics settings.
I use the following settings with no physics mods:-
Truck stability:- 20-25%
Trailer stability:- 0-5%
Suspension:- 30-40%
Braking intensity:- 40%
Steering sensitivity:- 5-10%
Steering non linearity:-50%
For camera settings:-
Physical movement:-50%
Locking factor:-50%
I use mouse steering and quite satisfied with results.
For your 5th point, you can create another profile with unlimited xp and money mod, so you can thoroughly use the truck /mods before using it for your main profile.

It finally occurred to me to go roll some semis+trailers in my beloved BeamNG physics sandbox to get an idea of the ballpark

Try Momo physics mod 9.0, you can find it on steam workshop

Found what I think is the same thing on Steam workshop. I like it. Just couldn’t ever figure out how to get sharemods to give me the damn thing lol.cmbaileytstc wrote: ↑25 Aug 2022 01:08Okay dude I'd like to, but literally cannot figure out how to securely get it from that seedy looking download site it's hosted on.
Re: Realistic Physics settings.
Yea. You can use the workshop version, it's the same thing.
