I always have thought that more or less half of a map team consists of assets creators and the other half of a map team consists of map designers. Now, this assets team ofcourse consists of 2D modellers and 3D modellers, and maybe some other team members. Now, if the Texas team consists of about 25 members, I expect at least 10 assets members. This assets team has some 2D and 3D modellers. I don't expect them to create only static houses and other buildings, trees, road surfaces, etc, but also new prefabs and assets for new companies, right? So, where are all the new companies...? I mean, what have they done the past 2 or 3 years?

Or is it not so simple as I depicted above? I mean, I don't know how the production process of a new company looks like. But as far as I can tell, one of the first blogs of a new state usually is about prefabs and interesting architecture. The only thing that is missing from some of the screenshots of that early blog is a company name. And with each new company also new cargo must be made. But that should be possible with 10 people in about 2 to 3 years, right? Or am I missing something...?

I think Marcello is speaking of 2d team as in 2d concept artist that are making new companies. Which is just Annie and Petr for ATS. ETS2 has 2 of their own. As far as asset team, per MandelSoft years ago, he is the one that told me that for the most part, for every 1 mapper, there is 1 asset person. I can find that post if necessary. Not that was 2017 so no telling what's different now but I bet it still fairly valid.

@parasaurolophus67 Not really; her answer was more about copyright issues (ATS companies looking too much like existing companies irl), not about the lack of new companies.

yes it does apply to companies. SCS has lawyers for that type of stuff and that is why they have to pause for a second to make sure things are legit. There is a process they must follow.

Well... Regarding companies, one thing that would be cool to have is small companies (With unique depots/prefabs) that exist in only 1 state and city... That get used once and then not anymore.

Pecan Farms

Recently with Montana in Great Falls, there is an unused Kolico depot. I hope this is an indication that Kolico will become a functional company with Texas.
I believe the cotton farms will also be a new company. Bedavd shared a picture of “Mary’s Cotton”, and I found evidence in the map editor that would confirm the prefab is assigned to this same company.

^Agreed, but we need a blog to someday reveal the logo. That is when I'd be convinced for any new company. Even still, we could get tricked. We have seen Kolico twice now in blogs and it has not come as a depot.

Yes, cotton farms have to be a new company too. I hope that just like Montana, which we had the addition of the Beet Harvester as cargo, they make the Cotton Harvester.
